So something I think needs to be addressed about the "homeless on the subway" situation is what do we do about people who are *NOT* physically disruptive but do things like take up entire corners of the train or smell so bad that entire cars empty out. I don't think we should kick people off trains for smelling bad but it is a real problem when during the winter basically every other car you get into smells like literal shit.

@DoomScroling The US mail is federally protected. If somebody steals from your mailbox, it's breaking a federal law. That is not the case with UPS and FedEx. And let me also point out that the corporate Raiders who support the incoming guy want to raid the HUGE retirement fund

Trump has announced that he would like to privatize USPS. If Trump moves forward with this it could impact employment, wages, & benefits of USPS employees. It could also potentially impact average Americans as there could be disruption in mail as well as mail privacy concerns.

The voice off screen appears not to know that the 19th century is actually the 1800s. Trump and Rogan seriously believes there was a giant lake in California in 1983.

Portland D3 resident, where 30 people are running for City Council. So far: 1 candidate came to the door. 2 candidates sent mailers. 3 candidates promoted in 2 lit pieces from outside group. Bupkis from mayoral candidates. No phone calls or texts to me or spouse.

I now hear that this was sent by, basically, the Portland Metro Chamber, (but under name of a newly-formed org?)

Building code nerds: Does anyone know WHY transitional kindergartens are only allowed on the ground floor — which poses a real challenge for TK expansion in urban school districts? Is there any good reason for this? Sounds like suburban sprawl-driven nonsense worthy of reform.

@Boenau In Portland OR, police used to have black-and-white cars. But their newer ones (now SUVs) are all black. Just trying to make things a little more dangerous. Our transit buses used to have half or more of the bus painted white. Their new scheme is 80% dark blue!
