@schadjoe Pickoff limit changes the game fundamentally too giving a distinct advantage to the base runner giving him a better jump after attempts limit reached.

@schadjoe Ghost runner changed the game in the wrong direction for me. That’s not baseball. If length of game is an issue, play one extra inning normal rules, if still tied after 10, game results in a tie.

@TalkinBaseball_ lol at this point take the pitch calling completely out of the umps hands. Have umps back there for everything else and use abs to relay the call to the ump to make the call on the field. It’s hilarious to see umps getting embarrassed but ABS is taken as fact use it completely

@SenTuberville I would amend it that if a coach leaves then a player has another free transfer if they want to use it. But I agree with the term and restricting transfers. Players commit to a coach, it don’t work out transfer but that’s it. Coach leaves, you can leave too but more needs to sit

@DetroitOnLion It’d be pretty neat if games started at scheduled times, not 20 mins later. There should be a law that they have to post actual start times not lie to the audience so that they can show pregame when people tune in expecting the game. 1st period has taken an hour for an 8pm start

@papatigermike The Tigers have proven for the most part that they don’t play the service time game. They have also proven that they will pay guys. I like to blame Illitch and Harris for things just like the next guy but maybe they don’t deserve all the hate.

You know who has grown suspiciously quiet? The send Kevin McGonigle down for service time/ the first couple weeks won’t make a difference to the season crowd. I’d say Mr McGonigle has played a pretty big role in these 1st two victories and as most of us have learned, 1 or 2 games can be all the difference in the world in the end.

@ShamsCharania If you have a lottery, use metrics to determine odds for teams. All would give a team just missing out on the playoffs higher odds. And then reward playoff teams one way or another for making playoffs to kill 7-10 seeds from tanking to just miss but no shot to advance

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

@LarsThorsell Yea as long as Wings don’t finish in bottom 11 the Blues can’t win the lottery. They can only move up 10 spots max.
