@echenze Hakuna nchi wanakuekea Camera hapo harafu wakwambie. Most mobs are hidden. Especially in Europe and the USA. You don’t even know where they are. Utapata tu post kwa mailbox. Overspeeding is criminal. You don’t tell a criminal that you are sitting there waiting for him to steal.

... when there's no proper road signage. Everywhere in the world where such systems exist, they are very explicit about the speed limits and the consequences. They tell you where the cameras are and whatnot. Can we have that first before you go around fining people?

I was listening to the founding Director General of NTSA on the radio earlier this week. He was saying he doesn't understand why Kenyans are opposed to the instant fines system. I cannot speak for every Kenyan but, for me, my view is this: You cannot go ahead and enforce such...

@Kalasinga_ I assure you, Kenyans do not take road safety seriously and this measure however punitive, is meant to reduce road carnage and associated injuries and deaths, and making a buck while at it.

@Kalasinga_ @ntsa_kenya ...pale kabati how do you expect us to shift from 110 to 50 then within seconds to 110,,you should erect speed bumps if you really mean well for Kenyans,,,we know you are trying to solicit campaign funds from Kenyans.. another useless body...

Hapo kwa speed limits, I fully support the fines. People drive at insane speeds on our roads. There are types of roads and their speed limits which should be taught in driving schools. You don’t need a speed sign to know speed limits in urban zones are 50 kph.

Instant fines, Smart DLs were meant to keep everyone safe on the roads, many lives are being lost due to reckless driving. We need discipline restored on the road coz you’re always one second away from being killed by a reckless driver. But see what the courts are doing.

@EricKigada @Jasiri_D30 @GeoffreyWachir2 @ntsa_kenya That's why speed limits need to be low in urban areas. It's not how fast you can drive when you're in the zone, it's down to minimising the chance and severity of crashes, and making things run much more efficiently.

@Jasiri_D30 @GeoffreyWachir2 @ntsa_kenya Why is there an 80kph sign on the western bypass & 50kph sign on the Waiyaki Way - Redhill Link Rd, or why one is expected to drive at 50kph the minute you get to Kabete Police Station along Waiyaki Way, or 50kph along Langata Road...these are a few examples.

@Jasiri_D30 @ntsa_kenya Most of them will be beaten in court for whoever bothers to go to court. Without signage, how does NTSA expect people to know what speed to drive at? At what speed is a personal car to drive at on all these dual carriageways? Why is the maximum speed the same for trucks & cars?

@Lukieeyworld @Kenyans That was not a speed camera. Speed cameras works differently from security cameras. They are only triggered by the settings you make in them. For example, speed trigger, yellow lines, obstruction. That is why the speed cam itself has an extra CCTV to keep it safe.

@Kenyans How many times will we benchmark over this same thing? Thought it was already implemented at Nyayo house? Problem is they switch it off themselves to harm citizens. I remember Muchai vividly just outside nyayo and this damn thing couldn’t differentiate a Mercedes from a probox !
