Grateful to speakers at the #gaconf22 who are willing to give up their time to speak to young people (online/in person). My school runs free public lectures for KS3/4 students & wider community, organised by the excellent @Miss__Angell. Please get in touch if you can run a talk.

@GeoBlogs @Miss__Angell This would be fantastic! Ely isn't that far from Cambourne either, so perhaps a possibility of an in-person talk? Will be in touch when back in school. :)

@GeographyBurp @Miss__Angell Happy to contribute on a child's geography from age 3-11 on 'Reflecting on what your Primary school (might have) taught you...?' or any way you think I could help encourage students to use their geography to teach under 11s by considering QTS....?

@ominologist Love these mnemonics! It's a huge topic and I may have bitten off more than I can chew. The talk is 50 minutes with a focus on KS3 curriculum design so I'll have to speed through a few things I think. Geological timescales will get a mention though!

After years of learning and lurking, I decided to be a bit braver and run a talk at the Geographical Association Conference. It's about our KS3 curriculum which aims to tell the story of us and our planet - looking back 4.5 billion years and ahead into the Anthropocene. #GAConf22

@Miss__Angell Thanks Jess! A bit of this stems from the History community. @OliveyJacob's CPD session helped to consolidate a few things too (and finally persuaded me to read Willingham). I'll do a shout-out for Historic-All and Education-All and see if I can send some more speakers your way!

The #gaconf21 is rocket fuel for the term ahead and beyond 🚀. Thanks to all the speakers and to @The_GA for organising everything online. A lot to take away, digest, and share with others when back in school.

Great talk from an inspiring @christopherpyle about climate change... featuring the death of the Ok glacier in Iceland ("It's not OK!"), how disciplinary knowledge about cold environments has changed, student agency, and leaving a legacy that empowers students to act.👍 #gaconf21

All set for the Geographical Association conference on the big screen (well, the TV). Looking forward to spending the next couple of days learning about some great Geography. #gaconf21
