A fantastic day for the 'Lovely Ladies', walking in the Peak District on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society, sr #Trek26. We raised £2,215 between us, and despite a twisted ankle, all made it back to the medal and glass of fizz.

@Patriot1422 @bennyjohnson Windows kill over 100 times more birds, potentially up to 1000 times more. Given wind turbines are helping to reduce global warming, which will kill a lot more than a million birds a year, I say let's keep the turbines!

@bennyjohnson Windmills actually do disrupt echolocation for marine wildlife and kills many birds. Trump is right, yet again.

🔥President Trump goes off on using windmills for energy: "We won’t allow a windmill to be built in the United States. They're killing us. They're killing the beauty of our scenery... The most expensive form of energy. They're made in China."

@Objectivei32678 @PoliticusSarah True, globally wind TURBINES are estimated to kill between 1 million and 1.2 million birds annually. Sad, yes. Globally, WINDOWS kill between 100 million and 1 BILLION birds annually. Should we ban windows??

Actually, every single thing he said about wind turbines is true-they are, in fact, bird abattoirs, actually trapping them and sucking them in to the blades. They are, in fact, killing marine mammals-not just whales, but dolphins as well. They are, in fact, too toxic to dispose of in any way that is not damaging to the environment. They are also costly, require a ton of oil to manufacture and operate, significantly raise the price of energy-a complete and utter boondoggle that enriches the few, while gouging the many. Seems he know more about it than do you.

This is a total mental collapse by Trump, who shows that at 80 years old, he can't travel as he goes off on a babbling, lie-filled rant about windmills and whales while meeting with the president of the European Commission.

@MAVERIC68078049 Interesting. So now we live in a world where, if we do not fit your ideal of what a woman should look like, we are automatically labelled as 'born a man'. I call this misogyny.

@RupertLowe10 Oh my goodness. What nonsense! We migrated around the world, took what we wanted, and left little for the original inhabitants in return. We used the blood, sweat and tears of others to bring great wealth to Britain. "Duty, decency and fair play". Hah!

Britain once was, not that long ago, the single best country in the world to live and raise a family. We can be so again. I am absolutely sure of that. A small island, that built a vast civilisation. It didn’t happen by chance, and it certainly didn’t happen because of immigration. It happened exactly because of British men and women. We shouldn’t apologise for that, we shouldn’t lie about it either. Our principles, our language, our technology, our democracy, our resolve - that all shaped the free world. We abolished slavery. We stood alone against the Nazis. We rebuilt after winning not just one, but two world wars. We even won a world cup, just about in my lifetime. Not that we’re allowed to even mention all that anymore, particularly in any musical version. Duty, decency, self-reliance, fair play, humour, freedom, personal responsibility. That’s what built Britain. And what is what we must restore. And it can still be restored. Just. Our future does not belong to those who apologise for who they are, or who we are. It does not belong to those who mock our principles, dilute our history or hate our way of life. It belongs to those who remember where we came from, and fight for what we stand for. We are being relentlessly managed into global irrelevance and local poverty by a political class too weak to defend Britain and too cynical to believe in what we can do, too afraid to do what needs to be done. They are weak. Weak, weak, weak. Where is the courage? The courage to restore our borders. To restore our institutions. To restore our cultural confidence. Britain was great, and it can be great again. Our country is slipping through our fingers. We can all feel it, hear it, see it. It’s happening all around us, but it doesn’t have to be like this. It can be restored. Britain can be great again. I promise you all that. A small window to act still remains. It’s time to stop managing Britain’s decline. It’s time to Restore Britain. Join our movement, and let’s make it happen whilst we still can.

@RupertLowe10 We must also ban clowns in all workplaces and social settings. Unsafe, intimidating and un-British. Oh yes, and while we are banning things that do not have their origins in Britain, let's ban Christianity. No debate!

We shouldn't let bosses ban the burqa/niqab in their own workplace, we should ban it in every workplace. Unsafe, intimidating and oppressive. Both the burqa and the niqab are un-British. We don't need a debate. We need a ban.

To everyone confused by the “hair swinging” ritual in Trump’s UAE visit: That wasn’t random. That wasn’t a TikTok dance. That was ancient. Intentional. Royal. Here’s what it really meant: The ritual is known in Gulf Arab culture especially in the UAE as part of a ceremonial welcome reserved for kings, heads of state, and those given the highest honor. The synchronized hair swaying by women is not a performance. It’s a gesture of grace, pride, and spiritual blessing. It symbolizes: •Honor •Purity of intent •And in some interpretations: submission to a higher cause or protector It’s rare. It’s sacred. You don’t get this unless you’re being received as a liberator or covenant figure. Donald Trump didn’t walk into a normal greeting. He was flanked by military, tribal elders, and ceremonial dancers. This was a king’s welcome. It sent a message to the world and especially to those watching in silence: “He’s not just back. He’s the one we trust now.” This was a global power shift, wrapped in ancient tradition.

We are witnessing a very sad moment in American history. The President of the United States is aligning himself with the dictator of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to undermine the independence of Ukraine and its democracy. Here are my thoughts:

@kinsellawarren Smith is supporting Canada and Alberta, proving to be the only real leader we have. The other premiers are ineffective, and the outgoing PM has crippled the country over the last decade. The issue isn't Trump, years of demented lib policy created this mess we are in.

Questions I've still got: • what political party, ever, has agreed to an election that they know they'll lose? • why do people think that Poilievre will do better with Trump, after Trump has said "I don't care" what Poilievre says? • why does anyone think dealing with Trump will be easier in the middle of an election campaign? • why doesn't Smith understand that agreeing with Trump's attacks on Canada has hurt Canada? I have questions. These are some of them.
