If a congregation teaches that the gifts have ceased, it’s a waste of time to walk through the doors. Go to a group that believes and prays for the sick, casts out demons and sees folks set free from these types of bondage. The reality is, many many people in the churches need deliverance and healing today. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has never changed and never will change. Religionists have changed him or think they have. I don’t want their Jesus. I want the real one in the Bible.

@Geolandman @GregCha67942091 Greg wasn't the one creating confusion, Lee. You mentioned that people would have to be martyred in order to be saved in the Tribulation. I learn from Jesus and not from another person's take on what it means to be saved. We are not saved by works or by escatological theories.

I've always, always, always been enthusiastic about going to church! ✝️🙏 But I'm going to be real for a sec. Currently, I'm struggling with maintaining that joy. I'm all in for Jesus, but maybe I'm burned out. Maybe I'm frustrated, maybe I'm confused and tired. Please pray 🙏

If your biblical theology produces a spirit that is divisive, arrogant, smug, and condescending toward fellow believers who do not agree with you on every point, then something is wrong with your heart, not the doctrine. Truth in Scripture is meant to humble us, not inflate us. The more clearly a man understands the gospel, the more aware he becomes that everything he has is mercy. Scripture asks a very simple question: “What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:7. Sound doctrine should produce firmness about truth and humility toward people. We are called to “speak the truth in love” Ephesians 4:15 and to correct others “with gentleness” 2 Timothy 2:25. Biblical theology should make us serious about truth and careful about our own pride at the same time. When truth leads to humility and holiness, it is doing what God intended.
