In my opinion excuses. Emery is world class at submissive tactics. He adapts to the opponents and find their weaknesses. Top managers don’t have that as a main trait. They dominate and play their way a lot more. That’s why Emery isn’t a top team manager and never will be. Perfect for Villa though.

All have reached new levels under emery. Now think about if we’re signing a few players for 50+mil.
