@Ed_Miliband So when do we get a democratic referendum of all this raiding of hard working people’s pockets in the UK to pay for the rest of the world to live a profligate life at our expense?

It’s a deal that will drive forward the clean energy transition which is essential for jobs and growth in Britain and for protecting us all against the worsening climate crisis.

My statement on the #COP29 outcomes: 👇 This is a critical eleventh hour deal at the eleventh hour for the climate. It is not everything we or others wanted but is a step forward for us all.

@afneil Not trying to defend the gun lobby but doesn’t militia mean “a military force that is raised from the civil population to supplement a regular army in an emergency”. Therein lies the scope for misinterpretation.

@adamtowler2 @skjones505 @bbclaurak Not in terms of the detail you expect the UK PM to answer quick fire questions in an interview. No other democracy fires such gotcha type questions at their leaders.

Not sure it really flies to say it's a 'gotcha' question to expect govt ministers to know what the rules are that they are asking millions of people to follow

@skjones505 @bbclaurak You can’t impose rules on millions of people without knowing what they are. In fact I’d say you can’t impose rules like these on anyone full stop.

@bbclaurak No body asks the Angel, Angela Merkel, quiz like questions on rules and regulations, just big picture and policy. Why do we treat our own UK PM as if he is on "Who wants to be a millionaire"? And then make a political comedy sketch about it. Media confuses the public not Gov!

I think Trump makes a good point about Dems not accepting the 2016 result. Americans have not had a moment to breathe in 4 years, inquiry after inquiry, b/c Dems didn't want to believe he won. But my gosh, his stoking of doubt in election day like this is deeply irresponsible.

Biden was faltering, hesitant and unable to deal with Trump hectoring. But he did not fall on his face. This was the low bar set for him and in that regard, he won.

Chris Wallace getting a lot of stick but it was a tough gig. Trump’s tactic of constantly heckling and hectoring and Biden’s inability to bat it away dealt Wallace a difficult hand. But he should have been more in command.

@afneil Absolutely correct Andrew. The problem is that exponential functions are no longer part of the UK GCSE curriculum, which has been dumbed down to things such as mere percentages and discounts in sale prices.

@DPJHodges Because international laws are international political agreements that are frequently changed and broken as democratic sovereign nations see fit. Trying to equate the two legal structures is wrong.

How can Boris say everyone is expected to obey the law when his Ministers are roaming around openly saying they are planning to break the law.

@fascinatorfun @pmdfoster @FT Any treaty can legitimately be cancelled. Surely that is democratic? Especially when the EU has negotiated in bad faith since Jan. no country should defer its laws to a foreign power except as a peace treaty after war. Any foreign power seeking to do that is aggressive.

@DavidGauke And we are still suffering from the reputational damage that you and your ilk bestowed on our country. Thankfully, we no longer are forced to spend our taxes on assisting the eurozone and can spend it on helping our COVID trashed economy. Not to mention make our own laws.

@JustinWelby @christopherhope That’s a very provocative thing to say! I was of the opinion that Jesus was the Son of God born by immaculate conception. Why are you bringing race and immigration into religion? Are you a politician or a man of God? We have enough of the former, in dire need of the latter!

Jesus was Middle Eastern, not white. It's important we remember this. But the God we worship in Christ is universal, and the hope he offers is good news for us all. Here are some of my favourites images of Christ from around the world. What are yours?
