To support a safe celebration, GEMA/HS deployed a rapid “Drop and Stop” Mobile Vehicle Barrier as part of our Hostile Vehicle Mitigation strategy, which helped prevent unauthorized vehicle access and protect the 2026 Savannah St. Patrick’s Day parade-goers.

Last week, GEMA/HS Field Coordinator Jonathan Jones joined partners in Barrow County for a Community Mobilization SWOT workshop hosted by the American Red Cross. Workshops like this help strengthen local capacity and show how communities already support one another.
