@AriPeskoe The bottom line is that the potential $20 increase can no longer happen and is replaced by $8.50 the other way. GP thinks it could be more savings than $8.50 but we won't know until the next rate case.

Does anyone understand the commitment in the GA Power-GA PSC settlement about the next rate case? Does it mean that rates will go down due to data centers or that rates will not go up by as much as had been expected due to data centers? Here's the ambiguous language -

@AriPeskoe 4/4 The financial backstops are higher than projected construction costs, so it will create downward pressure of $8.50/month for avg ratepayers (variables on that $8.50 includes how many contracts come through and how much revenue comes in from data centers).

@AriPeskoe 3/4 We should know in the next 12 months if the contracts come. So, no risk of existing ratepayers to pay for new power production. The PSC can alter GP's plans if data center revenue is less than projected

@AriPeskoe 2/4 Under the agreement, GP is financially backing projected revenue from data centers over three years. So even if all the projected revenue from data centers doesn’t materialize, GP has said it will financially back costs to produce the new power.
