With final passage of HB 1000 today, Georgians will receive another, one-time income tax rebate this year of up to $500 for joint filers! Grateful for our partners in the legislature for helping us provide relief to hardworking Georgians and return more of their money back to their pockets.

Marty, the girls, and I join the Shah family and the entire Old Dominion community in mourning the loss of Lt. Colonel Brandon Shah in yesterday’s tragic shooting. A dedicated soldier and proud UGA graduate who spent several years at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, his service is a reminder of what makes our nation and military exceptional. We ask that all Georgians keep our brave service members in their prayers, both at home and abroad. May God keep them safe in this time of conflict and in the days of peace to come.

Antisemitism and violence targeting religious institutions is abhorrent and downright evil. Today’s event in Michigan is a reminder of the real threats facing the Jewish community here in the US and worldwide. While we are grateful this did not become an even bigger tragedy, we should all take this opportunity to ensure this kind of deliberate hate has no place in our communities.
