Your Party is literally just the Jeremy Corbyn fan club. It's clear that he's just not a very competent leader, whether or not you think he was treated fairly by the British media during his term as Labour leader
Josh Pizzuto-Pomaco@joshpizpom

Your Party Scotland will not contest the Holyrood elections in 2026. Party leaders were unable to approve plans to stand Scottish candidates and are not set to meet again until after the deadline. heraldscotland.com/news/25961789.…

It wasn't uncommon for mixed race in the Americas to distance themselves from blackness even if they had black ancestry. Many people who didn't consider themselves black as a means of self preservation would identify as black today. That's all there is to it
Tom@GypsumFantastic

@DavidDPaxton @theradgeygadgey The cult of Mary Seacole is even odder when you consider that she didn't consider herself black, as well as her diaries containing lots of what these days would be considered racist content about all sorts of people - including liberal use of the N word. maryseacole.info/introduction/t…

The Labour Party endorsed planning reform in their manifesto, but apparently it's getting watered down because loads of backbenchers still buy into left-NIMBYism and believe that we can fill our need for housing with social housing. Depressing stuff
Cassie Pritchard@hecubian_devil

Do they even have YIMBYs in the UK? Like obviously things are bad here in the US but there’s lots of signs that we might turn things around on housing. Over there…am I just not seeing it? Or does it not exist?

@_Kodos_ Yes, a black person doing that in the face of massive institutional racism is noteworthy, this isn't hard to understand

@GeorgismFan A black person creating a business is noteworthy? I love the subtle racism behind everything you say

@_Kodos_ Mary Seacole used her own funds to travel to Crimea and set up the British Hotel with a family friend, that's not what everyday nurses were doing in the Crimean War

@BritishTaiga I didn't argue that she was the most famous nurse from the Crimean War, I simply object to people downplaying the work she did in supporting our soldiers and improving morale

Sure, but surely you understand that Mary Seacole isn’t the most famous nurse from the Crimean War, and people will only know and care about the most the famous nurse. Mary Seacole also wasn’t (technically) a nurse, she was an apothecary/herbalist. She did contribute a lot to the Crimean War by setting up a Hotel/Restaurant/Bar this allowed British soldiers to get a good meal and increased morale. That is the very important role Mary Seacole played in the war, increasing morale, and why her nickname of ‘Mother’ came about.
