@EricLDaugh It is not our duty at this time, when difficulties are so numerous, to interfere forcibly in the internal affairs of countries which we have not conquered in war........Winston Churchill
Yeah churchill would have told trump to fuck off aswell
English

@CymroCam Not a royalist but out of all of them she has the longest standing withh rugby and been a patron since 1986....i doubt scottish failing is because shes there at every game.
English

The royalist invasion of rugby is grim and does nothing but further solidify the “tory cunt” aspect/stereotype of the sport.
If Scotland spent more time developing talent and less time kissing powdered arses they may actually win a tournament.

Worse foreign policy blunder since Suez
He must go.

@RubbishNo3 @JohnnyJonJon5 Its going to be interesting. Costellow and edwards on form. Depends on the game plan and how they want to play. I think costellow is the better game manager but dan is better in loose play. Nice predicament to have
English

@OspreysPodcast Its looking brighter how often have we had 2 tens on form and oushing each other really does produce depth. Mee aswel like a ledgend on ioane
English

@GeraintKemp Twatted Ioane into touch.
My hero.

@HgHuw @BarrieJones @thetrosk @WelshRugbyUnity But there isnt 1 million in thst region thers about 600k and less that 60 amateure clubs in the north
English

@BarrieJones @thetrosk @WelshRugbyUnity Initially, they would have to import some from outside the region exactly the same as the current regions are doing now. Hopefully, with more than 1 million in the region it would become more reliant on home-grown playets as it became more established.
English

@LMenhenott Oh no the ledtoes have stopped us from speeding in front of schools
English

@WelshRugbyUnity @thetrosk Also how will they be finded as north wales is more of a hot bed for the tound ball. Also 50 amateur clubs in north wales 300+ south. Not exactly screaming for rugby
English

@thetrosk Condensing the best players from 4 teams into 2 (East & West) would raise standards hugely (best 50% of all pro players packed into 2 sides). Then offer contracts to the next best 25% - for the North development side.
More funding for each team ✔️
More funding for pathways ✔️

@CraigosP1 @Oweninsouts I think owen is confused buy saying pretend regions especially for the Scarlets who cover the most rural and geographically largest area and has done before the regions. Saying that we could base the in newcastle emlyn im sure all the b roads will provide a great traffic system.
English

@Oweninsouts No idea, Owen. Haven’t seen the report. Interesting to see what approach they take. They need to find a balance—it should be an evolution, not a revolution, in my opinion.
English

WRU apologists will have something negative to say.
They have been blind to a better way!
It maintains 4 regions, protects communities and pathways, pushes for Ireland/Scotland-like governance, reduces centralised costs, and optimises pathways.

English

@DjmComments @Liam0324 They should. Youd think commercially they would know how to generate more finances. I dunno
English

Ok. The stadium sponsorship income goes into a separate joint company - New Stadium DAC - which is jointly owned by IRFU and FAI so sponsorship and overheads are split 50//50. Net receipts from hospitality go into IRFU accounts. Both sporting bodies pay licence fees per match to use stadium. WRU should look at doing a deal with FAW who are looking for bigger venue.
English

@DjmComments @Liam0324 I went of our the figure i found but lets change it to what you have there
Irfu have so much better commercial partnerships its unreal the aviva extension was 20 mil for 5 years so 4 mil where as the pricipality is 1.25
English

@GeraintKemp @Liam0324 Not nearly enough. Here's what's been spent by WRU in last seven years. And it's woefully short on Performance Rugby in particular - pathways, academies, development, centres of excellence, etc.

English

@DjmComments @Liam0324 Also shall we go on the current or preposed figures
English

Total funding that you would spend on these four teams? Plus all the other elements of Pro rugby.
Here’s the current split based on annual average of last 7 years:
Men’s Regions £31m*
Men’s National Team £8m
Women’s game £3.5m*
Pathways, age grade, national centre of excellence £8m*
*require additional investment to make them effective & competitive.
