One assumes that, soon, embedding tweets will be charged for. Heck, probably even just linking to a tweet. I’m gonna miss all the awesome bots that have made Twitter, well, Twitter. How long until this all collapses in a heap?

How exactly does the Bank of England think raising interest rates going to encourage people to reduce spending on heat or food?

@Optimaximal @Pionir Obviously this only applies to food I guess, not heating? I don’t know. It might all be BS.

@Optimaximal @Pionir Here’s how it was explained to me by an economist friend: by doing that, you reduce people’s disposable income, hence their spending power, hence supply will match or surpass demand, hence inflation goes down. I’ve no idea at all if this works or is even true.
