In a democracy, why can’t the people choose which nations they wish to be their allies?
Why should we have nations guilty of launching illegal wars or committing acts of genocide foisted upon us as allies because it happens to suit the interests of a particular economic elite?

@JohnBaldLangLit While Ofsted warns of low expectations of children, they continue to have the lowest of expectations of parents, who they consider unable to read and understand a report without the assistance of simple colours and numbers.

Before Ofsted was destroyed in 2005, I never saw spreadsheets or traffic lights. Before Ofsted was devised, c1992, HMI did not use grades at all. The English language was good enough for Shakespeare, Darwin and Turing, and it should be good enough for school inspectors.
