Liverpool remain firmly in the race for Dean Huijsen and are not overly concerned by Real Madrid’s reported interest, as of now contrary to Spanish reports. Huijsen’s preference is understood to lean toward staying in the Premier League however, the defender is thinking long-term and aware that the Bernabéu may not be a realistic destination 3-4 seasons down the line. This may be his only opportunity. The question now, will Xabi Alonso’s appointment alter the current thinking, his decision will be confirmed soon.
