Everyone continues to report that Morgan McSweeney told the Met Police his phone had been snatched by a balaclava-clad man on a bike. There is no mention of a balaclava in the police transcript of his call to report the crime. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Let's talk about "gender neutral tree planting in Uganda".... Certain politicians in Wales are very angry that the Welsh Government is spending taxpayers money planting trees in Uganda. The Welsh Tories and Reform say they will cancel the project to put the money back in to the Welsh NHS. While it is totally legitimate scrutinise whether public money is being spent appropriately, the idea that cancelling the project will make any difference to NHS in Wales is just untrue. Ahead of an election we need to be talking about facts, not social media noise. The Welsh Gov spends about £270k a year on the project. That is 0.001% of the budget. The Welsh Tories have also said this is "gender neutral tree planting". Let's look at the real facts here:

When call handler thinks it’s Belgrave Street in the East End and mentions Stepney, McSweeney does not correct the handler. Indeed he then confirms the thief turning at Stepney Green Park when the handler mentions that — knowing full well that couldn’t be true.

Nick Timothy did not say Muslims should not be allowed to pray. He said mass ritual prayer in a shared national civic space is an act of domination, and cited the former extremist turned scholar Ed Husain, who has spent his career documenting exactly this phenomenon. The Adhan, the call to prayer, declares there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger. That is by definition a theological repudiation of every other faith. When projected into Trafalgar Square, a national memorial to British sovereignty and independence, it is not equivalent to a celebration. It is a declaration. The distinction is theological, not political, and it is precise. You invoke freedom of worship as though Timothy had called for mosques to be closed. He did not. You invoke British values as though observing that the domination of public spaces is straight from the Islamist playbook is somehow un-British. It is not. It is documented, sourced and supported by scholars who have spent decades inside Islamist movements. This week, thousands of people gathered on the Embankment chanting death to America and death to Israel. Imagine seeing British people at prayer and thinking “this is a great chance to stoke fear, hatred and division”. People who do that should have no place in British politics. Freedom to worship is a fundamental British value – one the Conservative Party used to believe in.
