Sadly it's the landscape we now live in

I’m the biggest generative AI hater I know and am sus of everything but I just saw someone say this what were you like in the 90s trend was made to train them how to accurately age progress faces?? Even I didn’t think it could go that deep but well now I’m wondering

@idlewildgirl @theblackcatsays It's the same as Niantic using real world data from Pokémon Go users to train it's real world spacial mapping algorithms that's now being sold to defence companies. If something is "free" online from a company, your data/training is how you pay for it.

@idlewildgirl @theblackcatsays Basically the data it has on you that you upload generally isn't indexed, so when you say "this is me at 18 and this is me at 38" it has a definitive log of your features between those two times to train with...now extrapolate out with however many people in the world post that.
