@MarkSerbu He's probably just butt hurt and paranoid about sharing with the class because he paid what old Mongo was asking for those S63 files. I believe he quoted me about $20k back in the day

Well, I just got my first block on X...congratulate me! The odd thing is, this guy is (supposedly) a fellow engineer, and he's working on a very cool gun (Stoner 63) that I'm probably one of the foremost experts on the planet on, as far as design and manufacturing. He's now offering a semi-auto version of this classic gun that the Navy Seals used in Vietnam (for $3,000!), and I guess he didn't like the questions I was asking about how he intends to produce the thing. Oh, well. If he's the real deal and will actually get this thing to market, I doubt he'll do well in the gun industry if he's so easily butthurt! If he's the scammer that his actions seem to paint him to be, then good...I hope I alerted enough people that he won't be successful at it.

@MarkSerbu I've always wondered, did they make it longer in the back as a move towards a constant recoil like system? Like is the bolt still short so I has more travel, or did they go with a longer bolt than an UZI and that's why they needed the longer receiver?

I learned something today about the weirdest and rarest Ruger submachine gun that you will probably never see. When it is switched to the “AUTO”position, if you pull the trigger slowly it will fire semi automatically! No idea if this was the design intent or just “how it is”. Thanks to my Uzi-book-writing buddy, Dave Gaboury for asking the question!

🇺🇸 #US: A 20-year-old man was arrested earlier today after throwing a Molotov cocktail at the home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. At around 4:12 AM local time, the man threw the firebomb at the CEO’s residence in North Beach, burning the exterior gate. About 40 minutes later, the same individual ran to the Mission Bay neighborhood, where OpenAI’s headquarters are located, and threatened to set the entire HQ on fire. Following these incidents, police arrested the man, but reportedly have not yet publicly "identified" him. (via The Guardian)

When it comes to photography, software (aka skills) are far more important than hardware, but manufacturers don’t like this message and consumers outright reject it with hostility. (This is a tweet about guns)

You should work hard because it creates discipline, wealth, and a better life for those you love. It has to be balanced against the need for contact that keeps us human. The human in a workplace used to be surrounded by kids who were learning their trades. No longer the case.

@Mindpron @ArmedJ0y One time a friend of a friend ex Delta dude came to my private range, he sprinted from 50yds to the target and in few seconds had dumped a 30rnd mag from an AR and then emptied a 1911 into a 3" steel gong, no misses. Dude looked like a camera on a gimbal

@ArmedJ0y If you really want to see something freaky, go find footage of Tier1 operators clearing rooms. They look like they are AI because their entire upper body just does not bounce with their movement. It is just rock stable the entire time they are at a dead sprint.

I just want game devs to understand that there is a OCEAN between the two "anemic cerebral palsy victim struggling to hold a 10lb rifle steady and recoiling like they're shooting a .50" and the "ninja dolphin diving sliding wall run Adderall addict" gameplay styles we appear trapped in.
Velion@Velion

This man is full blown running and is still moving when shouldering his rifle and still hits the target... But in tarkov you have some weird animation when you scope in while standing still?

For 10 seasons and over 200 episodes, "Stargate: SG-1" was the gold standard for sci-fi television. Premise: a military dream team, Colonel Jack O'Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, and the alien warrior Teal'c must save the universe from the enslavement of the diabolical Goa'uld. The show deftly mixed Egyptian mythology, creative science, kickass action, and epic space travel — all while keeping a perfect balance of humor, camaraderie, and genuine wonder. And at its core was brilliant astrophysicist and soldier Major Samantha Carter: smarter than everyone in the universe, but NOT a girlboss. She followed orders, loved her team, respected her male counterparts, and never once had to belittle the men around her to feel strong. She earned her place through competence, not attitude. That’s why the show worked so well for so long. It spawned 2 fairly well-received spinoffs, "Stargate: Atlantis" and "Stargate Universe"... ...and 2 direct-to-video films, "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" and "Stargate: Continuum." But it also begat the disastrous 2018 GIRLBOSS REBOOT prequel web series, "Stargate Origins: Catherine." Released on MGM’s short-lived "Stargate Command" YouTube channel, it retconned the series into a story about a young Catherine Langford uncovering the Stargate in 1939 Egypt. Langford was brash, bullying towards men, and a thoroughly unlikeable precursor to all the "strong women" plaguing media today. The series BOMBED ENTIRELY, was cancelled after one short season, and is largely forgotten or dismissed today. Thanx to female empowerment, TV will never see male-centered shows as entertaining as "SG-1" again. But thankfully, we can rewatch these gems over and over again to remind us how good we once had it.
