It comes from the local farmers and vendors who sold through Restaurant Depot because it was one of the few channels that would take them. Sysco's CEO called it "minimal overlap." In 2015, the FTC blocked Sysco from doing the exact same thing. In 2026? All Sysco has to do is write a check to the right PAC, gift a house to the right politician, or host a $150K-a-plate dinner and this sails through. That's how Washington works now. Regulatory approval isn't earned. It's purchased. The FTC isn't a watchdog anymore. It's a rubber stamp with a for-sale sign. This affects every restaurant you love. Every hospital cafeteria.
