None of these farms exist
All are works of fiction by @Tesco supermarkets
This #FarmWashing practice should be made illegal, it deceives consumers and makes nonsense of @RedTractorFood traceability
Food labelling should be clear, country of origin should be clear #BuyBritish

There's an exciting project coming up in Harehills to create an edible community garden. I've been tasked with the design, and it'll be an opportunity to learn some practical #permaculture. If you want to get involved, get in touch!

My thoughts tonight are about today’s measures announced by @UKLabour to cut back on meat by 27% for the sake of emissions.
I saw the @FarmersGuardian shared a post about this earlier and it got me thinking.
We all care about the world we live in and I believe all want to cut emissions.
But let me ask you a question?
What do you prioritise in life?
Because if it’s quality food, including meat then you’re in for a treat.
It’s no secret that agriculture has been in the news lately as a contributor to emissions, and we also know that the whole livestock emissions debate doesn’t hold up under science.
But, what if you could go one step further as a meat citizen and become someone that’s cutting emissions in the uk by prioritising healthy nutritious meat, dairy and local produce?
Imported goods-
The UK’s consumption-based carbon footprint (including emissions from imports) hit 705 million tonnes CO2e in 2021, with imports alone contributing over 45% of that—say, 320 million tonnes. Much of this is from manufactured goods (electronics, clothes) made in coal-heavy countries like China. That swamps agriculture’s 46 million tonnes, but this is lost on society.
We are a society of people obsessed with what we don’t need.
Instant gadgets off Amazon or fast fashion.
The government wants you to buy these good because it not only keeps you paying taxes, it’s another way they can keep our eye off the ball or what’s really going on.
Farms are being targeted. This is a fact.
We {farmers} are easy targets, peaceful and quiet people working in the background. A huge cog in a huge machine.
Notice how “to reach our targets” it’s all aimed at consumption of meat. No word on importing goods from overseas and fast fashion killing the planet.
No attack holidays or travel.
The government knows they can’t take those from you, the public, because they would lose votes and not get in.
It’s a calculated move.
With a natural wedge driven between consumers and farming due to the recent historic distance between where our food comes from and our plate, it’s easy to attack what farms produce and do so assuming it’ll go on in the background quietly.
But this farmer will not be quiet about it.
It’s time we all knew the truth. We need to prioritise our food and we need to learn to live without endless and instant fixes of materialistic items we genuinely don’t need. Only bought for an instant gratification surge of dopamine.
To jeopardise our supply of nutrient dense foods produced by an astonishing subculture of beautiful humans, farming to the highest standards for you three times a day, makes me really think about if I need that new item from china.

@FarmingUK I love the good full fat versions and milk sold in glass bottles without the plastic taste.

The importance of the environmental impact of the third Heathrow runway seems to only matter when you're in opposition...
Otherwise it's "Fly baby Fly"
Another promise broken!
