Great afternoon on the ground in Makerfield. My assessment: Reform signs and boards everywhere It’s definitely a Reform stronghold Burnham is nowhere near as popular as they say!

🗳️ After 5-6 hours of canvassing in Makerfield, here’s my takeaway: Reform: ✅ Dozens and dozens of positive responses on the doors ✅ Posters and signs up on almost every street Labour: ❌ One sign spotted all day ❌ Only two positive responses on the doors No mention of the Tories, Lib Dems, Greens or Restore at all. Also saw plenty of Restore leaflets dumped in bins or thrown on the floor. There is no love for Andy Burnham in Makerfield.
ANGRY BURNHAM shouts at Mail reporter during by-election. Mail reporter writes it up including Burnham's side of the story. Burnham tweets attack on GB News for zero reason, is forced to delete the tweet. He tweets again to only attack the reporter. It hasn't been a week yet
I find it astonishing that @AndyBurnhamGM is even being given the time of day. It’s clear as crystal he’s using the people of Makerfield, for his own sorry political ends! For this reason.. I hope he loses the by- election and by a truly great defeat! And as a consequence I also think he should lose his position as Mayor of greater Manchester. He deserves it! And the people of Makerfield and greater Manchester deserve so much better. People have had enough of the likes of him using decent people for their own selfish ambition.
