Algerian is not foodie heaven. Despite signage, most restaurants/cafes are fast food joints. But there are some exceptions and I recommend:
La Rose Blanche Patisserie in Oran. Lovely cakes & savouries.
Caracova Restaurant in Algiers. Good food, retro charm. Alcohol.
