Thank you for all your kind words as I step down from #HouseOfGames after 9 amazing years. It is honestly the most fun show to work on, with the most wonderful team, but, after 800 episodes it's time to hand over the keys to a new host. There are plenty of new episodes still to air though, and I'll even be filming one final handover week later in the year! It really has been a treat from start to finish.

@BrittonatMarske @upstarts1979 @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews Thank you. Saw it two days after my 21st birthday. I was in no state to go on the 1st Feb 😂

40 years ago today I had the good fortune to find this juvenile Ivory Gull on Saltburn Beach, before work and in a blizzard. Not the rarest bird I have found but perhaps the most dramatic. It stayed for a week and was widely twitched. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews

@GhostlyVision @thenewgalaxy I looked it the wrong field couple of weeks ago😞. That field a revaluation. Just so many EMO. , and even managed to stop the nose bleed 😂. From leaving my beloved Gloucestershire 😀

Dactylorhiza hybrids both puzzling and beguiling , can lead you down the “Rabbit Hole of Dispair”, comments welcome if just Dactylorhiza X grandis or possibly Common Spot and Early Marsh ,Dactylorhiza X kernerorum at Clattinger Farm Wiltshire @GhostlyVision @thenewgalaxy

English

@duncan_dine @thenewgalaxy This image shows long upward pointing leaves and perhaps a hint of Early Marsh colour, so yes, Early Marsh x Common Spotted 👍.
Is this the same plant as a couple of weeks ago?

@legionaw @lealjoseluis @stats_feed My feeling is we shouldn't really differentiate between wars, nor grade them according to size or participants.
English

@GhostlyVision @lealjoseluis @stats_feed Yes, but no great wars (wars between all great powers) like world wars or Napoleonic Wars for over 50 years.
Most of the wars these days are mainly regional conflicts or civil wars.
Wars closer in scope to world wars might be the two Congo Wars (1996-1997, 1998-2003) in Africa.
English

@stats_feed People say nuclear weapons but since the invention we haven’t had any world wars. Ironic crazy fact.

So absolutely made up , my jaw nearly hit the floor when @becky_cmd found this “alba” Brancifort’s Orchid in the lava fields of Mount Etna Sicily this morning , how many orchid enthusiasts have been privileged to find one of these , don’t think we will top this @EuropeanOrchids
