One of my biggest strengths as a pitcher (outside of spin and location) is how I don't get rattled in the circle. I had two strikes on this @hailstatesb commit. She made an adjustment in the box and crushed my rise ball with a HR to left field. My body language never changed. I know hits happen. Very next batter? Got her to fly out to left. So happy I found a pitching coach who immediately saw why my speed hasn't increased over the past year or so - my drag leg was slowing me down. These drills help my body learn to pull my back leg up faster, really lift and drive out, be more relaxed with my snaps, and keep my glove hand from drifting. My speed and spin are both getting better. Really working on power in my back leg and not letting it drag. Doing these drills at the beginning of my lessons means I have to dig deeper to do full-speed pitching at the end. Really focusing on my leg drive and bringing my back leg forward more quickly. I can tell these drills are helping with my snap and my speed. I can definitely tell a difference when I throw my curve. It's breaking later and sharper. Highlights from my last tournament of the fall/winter season - AZ Last Blast. Threw my change, curve, screw, and rise. And even played with my drop a few times. Threw 71% strikes and 72% first-pitch strikes. I learned so much playing in 18u this fall and got to face some really competitive d1 committed batters. I am a better pitcher now than I was in August. And now I know I'm capable of facing some of the best batters out there. Thank you to my teammates and coaches. You guys made this season fun. My team went 5-1 on the weekend and ended up facing the 2025 PGF 18u Premier champs in the semis. I was the only 2028 on either roster. Thank you Coach Mike for starting me in the circle and giving me that chance to grow. My screw and changeup were really working all weekend and my speed has increased. Threw for 65% strikes. Excited for AZ Last Blast this weekend. Started off 2026 excited to get back in the circle at the PGF Winter Qualifier in Mesa, AZ. Threw my changeup for strikes (both called and swinging) with different counts on batters. Hovered right around 70% first-pitch strikes. Rained out fields meant a shortened @triplecrownspts Don Battles On this year. Wasn't my best weekend of pitching, but it was a good reminder to work on the things I CAN control. I did like how my screw ball was moving. Thanks to the coaches who took the time to come out to see me play. Excited to be even better when you see me next summer! #classof2028 @AZStormSheehan
