@RobSchneider Not enough. These people make themselves 'martyrs' and everyone defend them. While they still have influence in a western culture, their plight goes viral, making things worse. Deport them if they do not respect western values. Cut their influence.

@davepl1968 What makes it worse, is the increasingly aggressive feminism, which makes flirting feel like a hate crime. This makes it too hard for guys to bother, and resort to porn and explains declining fertility rates. Makes me wonder, was I the outlier or has the world become unnatural?

I've been married for 35 years. With autism, no less. 40 years ago, when we met, I had no idea that I had autism, but I knew I was a little different. And I told her that in our relationship, she would have to go first. I have no "game". I don't flirt. I'm not wired for it. My entire reproductive plan was to just be nice and smart and "hang around" until someone "got me". And she did. And 40 years later, it remains true. I am constantly recalibrating my outward emotion and affection up or down to match what I perceive from others. Even if I -feel- more, I ratchet it down. And then when I receive affection or affirmation, it goes up. You might think that cowardly, or self-protective, and maybe it is. But with ASD, you don't have a "natural sense" of how the other person is magically feeling. You have to go by example. And it's very easy to overstep or overreach if you're not careful.

As an autistic man, flirting and making the first move intentionally makes me feel like I'm engaging in harassment

@davepl1968 As another guy with ASD, the relevancy of this post just hit stratosphere, the story of my life. 42 years, happily married for 6, but my life could've been so much less painful if I had an answer for this (brilliant approach @davepl1968).

>American airman asleep on a train in France while on vacation with his childhood friends >Wakes up to the sound of screaming and breaking glass >Sees a terrorist step into the aisle carrying an AK-47 and 300 rounds of ammo >Doesn't look for an exit, doesn't hesitate >Sprints 30 feet down the aisle straight at the barrel of the gun, completely unarmed >The terrorist pulls the trigger; the rifle miraculously jams >Tackles him, gets slashed in the neck and hand with a box cutter, almost losing his thumb >Ignores the bleeding, chokes the attacker unconscious with his bare hands >Credits God for the jammed rifle and his survival >Saves everyone on board Patriot airman Spencer Stone is a hero.

Thanks for caring about a character I created when I was 24 and a book I wrote when I was 33. I'm old now, still trying to come up with truthful stories, and glad to know that you've taken Ender Wiggin to heart. @thomas_garrard *I’m also happy to see how many fellow humans have volunteered to replace Grok in a book discussion. **And speaking of being old, I first posted this incorrectly. Grok may have to replace me.
Just T.J. the Army Vet@thomas_garrard

I just had a conversation with Grok about one of my all time favorite books “Ender’s Game” I had to talk to Grok, because I’ve never met anyone who’s read it, besides me. Lol. It’s a great book, though, if you’re ever so inclined.

@orsonscottcard @thomas_garrard Are you kidding? Enders Game is amazing, the movie as well, so underrated, directed by my fellow South African director Gavin Hood. Thanks Orson.

@ID_AA_Carmack Actually not bad John. Pull-ups are strenuous. When it comes to pull ups, Ian Barseagle wins.

I tried the “Pete and Bobby Challenge” of 100 push-ups and 50 pull ups in 10 minutes. The push ups aren’t a problem, and I figured I could do 5 pull ups x 10 on a 1 minute cadence, but I crapped out after 25. It turns out I can barely do 5x10 on a two minute cadence, so I have a ways to go.

@elonmusk This is terrifying. It almost feels unreal that the world has succumbed to this insanity. Why are we not doing more about this. We should not just be complaining on social media, we should be galvanizing protest groups and fighting this. This is living a real life dystopia.

@salon_vert @ecer_eu Good day. Thank you for posting this. Is there perhaps a recording of the seminar that I can stream or download? I am very interested in Dievturiba, but have missed the first lecture and I also stay in a different timezone. Kind regards, Gideon

As a young girl I remember always being told, “You can be whatever you want to be!!” From an astronaut to a doctor, a lawyer, a vet, you could do it all. But there was always this pesky little condition: your dreams had to be big. They had to sound impressive. Nobody ever said they wanted to be a mom, or a housekeeper, or a trash truck driver, or a waitress, or a dad, or a gardener, or a secretary, or anything common, normal, and ordinary. You could be anything you wanted, so long as it was something grand. You couldn’t dream of a simple life, of marriage, a home, and a handful of kids, because that was a “waste” of potential. That was “settling.” So now we have an entire generation of people who think marriage, children and normal lives are failures, when in reality these are the single most important things most of us will ever have, or ever do. These are the pillars of society, and yet they are the one dream we are told we shouldn’t have.
