@cbarrie It honestly still blows my mind that we can do that in the UK. So cool. Didn‘t believe it when I first opened a bank account in Oxford. Same with the gov.uk site, so many services are so so efficiently handled.

What is particularly impressive is his use of individual-level data *connected* across time to show that in Nördlingen holding political office meant a substantial increase in one's personal wealth.

Having collected more than 300 pension claims, she shows that as symptoms could come on suddenly and were persistent over victim‘s lifetimes, the real effects on individual‘s quality of life and economic activity has been underestimated. Look out for her future book!

@ShelleyCastle2 presented her work on the long-term economic effects of WWI gas victims. This is the first study showing that gas victims received very little in pension compensation as their disabilities were often judged to be minor.
