We don’t just have an illegal immigration problem — we have a legal immigration problem. I’ve been sounding the alarm on H1 B and OPT abuse for a while now. We’re making real progress. Keep fighting.

🚨 The problem with this current administration (it comes from the top/President) is that they believe the only problem with our Legal Immigration system is fraud and that we need "better" vetting and enforcement... 🚨 They fail to recognize in the case of the OPT/STEM-OPT, that the program benefits employers when they hire foreigners instead of American citizen workers, because they Don't have to pay FICA (and FUTA) taxes for the foreigners they employ via the program(s). 🚨 In the case of the H-1B visa program, the same applies, they are focusing on "better" vetting, rooting out fraud, raising the wage floor, but they fail to recognize the other major incentive for employers to hire H-1B visa holders over American citizen workers, is the "indentured servitude" aspect of the H-1B visa program. The foreign employee is tied to the employer via their visa sponsorship. 🚨 For both cases, the current administration is OK/fine with the Mass-Displacement of American citizen workers via the noted Legal Immigration programs (OPT/STEM-OPT is a regulation not legislative & can be ended via an E.O.), as long as they root out fraud and engage in "better" vetting and enforcement... 🚨 They fail to look at Real World Data that points out (and has pointed out for many years) that we do not have a STEM/white collar Labor Shortage in the U.S. and that the noted Legal Immigration programs (and others) are not needed. 🚨 The current president believes based on opinions and stories that he hears, Not based on Real World Data, that we have a shortage of STEM/white collar workers, or "smart people" as he sometimes says... ⭐️ As Mark Krikorian (@MarkSKrikorian ) has said for many years now: "...the President has said repeatedly, really for 10 years now, that American businesses need foreign workers, and so he approves of guest worker programs."
