.@SecretaryTurner joined @RepCiscomani’s roundtable with various stakeholder groups — including lenders, local leaders, and nonprofits— to discuss the Trump Administration’s actions on housing affordability and expanding the success of Opportunity Zones.

Under @POTUS and @SecretaryTurner, HUD remains focused on treating the underlying causes of homelessness, not just the symptoms.  Secretary Turner joined Teen Challenge yesterday for the ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Men’s Center, which will help those facing addiction avoid homelessness and live a life of self-sustainability.

Another FYI Roundtable in the books.    @SecretaryTurner convened the third and final Foster Youth Roundtable Series event in San Antonio, TX this week — gathering insight from youth with lived experience about how HUD and federal partners can best serve them as they enter adulthood.    As we enter National Foster Youth Month, HUD is proud to partner with @FLOTUS, youth with lived experience, and advocates across the country to provide a path to a life of self-sustainability.

Today, the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias published a report detailing how the Biden administration’s policies spread anti-Christian bias throughout the federal government. Among the Task Force’s many findings, HUD discovered alarming instances of anti-Christian bias at the Department: - Participation in HUD programs was conditioned on compliance with the Biden administration’s woke gender identity nondiscrimination requirements, even if those requirements conflicted with providers’ religious beliefs. - Faith-based homeless service providers raised concerns regarding biological men entering women-only shelters, which the Biden administration required based on a radical misinterpretation of the law. - A HUD employee was denied promotions multiple times and criticized for having a Bible and cross in their cubicle. Their supervisor even warned others to “beware” of them, simply because of their religious beliefs.

It was great to be back in my home state of Texas to announce HUD’s rollback of costly, Biden-era green energy mandates that added over $20,000 to the cost of a home for hardworking Americans. The Trump Administration is using every tool in the toolkit to expand housing supply and lower costs for aspiring homeowners across the country.

Today, @SecretaryTurner and @SecRollins rescinded a costly Biden Administration-era policy which added at least $20,000 to the cost of home construction. The rescinded rule rendered all new home construction ineligible for an FHA or USDA-backed mortgage loan unless the home was built according to the burdensome and expensive 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).

The Biden administration weaponized the Fair Housing Act to enforce a left-wing ideological agenda while real cases of unlawful discrimination were ignored. Under @POTUS, HUD has returned fair housing to its Constitutional roots — equal rights, not extra rights, under the law.

Yesterday, @SecretaryTurner convened an FYI Roundtable discussion in Pittsburgh — where former Sec. Ben Carson celebrated the first anniversary of the FYI program. These discussions will improve the program and help supply foster youth with the tools needed for adulthood.
