@abysstoabyss Yes jojoba oil works way better for me than tallow did 😅 for so many things too!

I think jojoba oil as makeup remover is the best thing that's happened to my skin since tallow. I only wear eye and lip makeup, no face makeup, so I get to perfectly moisturize my T zone every time. Then a few touches of tallow on my really dry spots & a spritz of rose water. 💖

@poutypierrot Fwiw pregnancy/small babies have dysregulated my sleep, I have to take an antihistamine before bed (cetirizine) and wear ear plugs, but then I sleep okay. Even 6 hours in a row makes such a difference! ❤️

I've gotten 4 hours of sleep a night since my son was born 11 months ago even though he sleeps through the night finally as of this week. I think my brain is just permanently ruined because everything causes me an insane amount of stress and I cry every day

I'm 90% sure I've gained less weight this pregnancy so far than my last two, but I'm still currently up 30lbs and I have 8 weeks to go so that's rough

@mypinkjeep @costcocanada @Costco @FoodProfessor Yes I just found out about this a few months ago. Much of their ground beef is default halal as well. Very disappointing, I get as much meat as I can from Superstore now because of it.

All @costcocanada chicken is now halal, used to be separate. I am Christian, not Muslim, and refuse to support this soft takeover. I do not recognize “allah” as the greatest. @costco, please stop this. N.American is NOT an islamic state. Thanks @FoodProfessor - eyes opened.

@mrsdobbins_ Lol 24 hrs being minimum is crazy to me, when I hemorrhaged with my 1st they insisted on keeping me 24hrs to make sure the bleeding was under control, they usually send home same day. With my 2nd we were home 3 hrs later. (I am in Canada)

what’re we doing/saying to get out of the hospital asap when everything with mom + baby is fine? besides like throwing a fit and walking out, cause I don’t have that in me.

@ThymeToBeBorn So fwiw (and this might be unpopular given the other replies) after my first birth I felt this way and going to a chiro (specifically Webster technique - gentle, no cracking, no head manipulation) fixed me immediately.

Since having twins many physical things have gotten better (thank you internet bodybuilders) but still I cannot walk well on uneven ground. Hips still feel like they're coming apart when I do that. I do not want to go into the woods. Husband still thinks we are going to go hike this and that someday and right now I think "we" are not going to be doing that.

@ThymeToBeBorn This is probably not the best way, but what we do with our little guys is put names on popsicle sticks and pick out a few each night.

@millysayseh Yeah like we got a dog (rescue puppy) 6 mos after getting married, had kids 4.5 years later. Dog is tolerates our kids, but her personality "quirks" are really tough with small children (not to mention all the money we spent on her over the years). Really wish we'd had kids first

Newlyweds and first-time expectant parents: you do NOT want a kitten. You do NOT need a puppy. You should NOT adopt that retired draft horse, that adorkable little lizard, or that trio of guinea pigs. Trust me. You can do it later. You're going to *really wish you did this laaaaater.*

What will happen if I put liver in a blender and add it to burgers? Will the sinews forever gunk up the blade? Will it taste like liver forever when my boy goes to make a smoothie?

@hanz69er Pregnancy sends me into histamine overdrive - I have to take Reactine before bed or else I don't sleep (not congestion, just don't get into a deep sleep and often wide awake at 4am).

The deeper I dig into histamine, the more I recognize it’s probably the driver for a lot of dysfunctional behavior in people—ADHD, OCD, procrastination, insomnia, rumination. Histamine is one of the core arousal/wakefulness neurotransmitters and gates dopamine, acetylcholine, glutamate, and the stress axis via H1/H3 receptors. Too little histamine means underaroused; too much means hypervigilant. In cases of low-level (or even full-blown) allergies and dysregulated mast cell degranulation, chronic nighttime exposure leads to poor sleep. Downregulated H1 receptor expression from chronic agonism then causes poor activation when needed, leading to ADHD and/or procrastination—a functional histamine deficit. Similarly, chronic excessive histamine drive leads to OCD and rumination because the mind cannot relax in its hypervigilant state, which also causes histamine-driven insomnia. Two tools that can help: 1. Cyproheptadine is an antihistamine with antiserotonin effects that blocks histamine at the receptor and blunts the cortisol effect driven by excess serotonin (from gut microbes). It also stimulates appetite, so keep that in mind. More of a sledgehammer than... 2. Ketotifen, a mast cell stabilizer, doesn’t cause the drowsiness that cyproheptadine does. It prevents pathological mast cell degranulation and is good for low-grade allergies. And of course, the Ray Peat Carrot Salad™️ and well-cooked white button mushrooms will bind bacterial endotoxin in the gut, which could be driving the histamine dysfunction leading to the above symptoms.

We've had a few really big wins with the 3yo this week and it feels like we're finally coming out of the stubbornness haze we've been in for like 2 years now 🤪
