@Gilition I think from what I heard that The Daffy Duckaroo was restored from the original negative, so that's cool.

@27_negative That's because for many years, prints of the pre 48's didn't have the luxury of being sourced from the negatives

@Gilition There’s a spectrum of prior quality. Some like A Lad only had a grey sheen over it while others like this one and A Day at The Zoo or Peck up Your Troubles had quality so poor in their available prints that new restorations make them look like completely new shorts.

@APPictures9 This might be controversial to say, but I can care less about the amount of new projects. In my humble opinion, as long as the classic shorts continue to be readily available on MeTV Toons, Tubi and TCM, as well as on home video, I'm okay with it

There actually hasn’t been much Looney Tunes projects made under Warner Bros Discovery since the 2022 merger. Outside of announcements like the Speedy movie, we had:
- A new logo in 2024
- A 2023 pinball machine
- Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports
- Fortnite collab

I think Looney Tunes can never go away. They’re way too iconic to American pop culture in a similar way to Mickey Mouse. That’s why I’m not worried about this franchise specifically if Paramount gets Warner Bros (besides, the characters will be public domain very soon).

@looneycritic @residenteediot It's because they were still timed for technicolor. Cinecolor only did the release prints. That's why many of the late 40's cinecolor cartoons still have a full spectrum of colors.

@residenteediot I'd say it depends largely on when the restoration was done. There's a good chunk of restorations where the color was the result of guesswork. It's one of the drawbacks of having total control of every single color. And they sometimes made the mistake of referencing cels.

I love how despite any restoration it gets Riff Raffy Daffy is forever stuck with its Cinecolor colors cause the original negatives are missing, which imo I don't mind cause it adds to the quirkiness of this one
