I really have tried to give X the benefit of the doubt and stuck with it, but I really can’t be doing with reading this toxic trash anymore. I have a lovely life and I intend to spend my time more productively. Byeeeee!

@forallcurious C02 levels reaching concentrations higher than Homo sapiens has lived with in its entire 300,000 year existence. Totally uncharted territory that we have the power to change but are still not doing enough.

@TicTocTick Even if we ignore the bizarre 25th month, if you’re simply relying on the notation using the last two years of a four figure year (25 not 2025) it happens every century - 1825, 1925, 2125. Why are we even wasting time on this moronic tweet? 🙄

@benonwine Kes. I’m going to say 1968. The Barry Hines book. A Kestrel for a Knave, on which it was based was a staple in schools in the early 70s. One of the stars was Colin Welland who went on to write the Oscar’s-winning screenplay for Chariots of Fire a few years later.

@Kthomson712 @name61713091530 @hol40900 You’re moving the debate to something else and I’m supposed to be off X. My point was the monarchy costs us 77p each and they bring in millions in tourism. There are indeed bigger issues, so we should maybe focus on those instead and not worry about their ‘cost to the taxpayer’

@GillCoates5 @name61713091530 @hol40900 What you see is England is symptomatic of a power/ credibility/ trust vacuum being generated by our politicians/msm. There are of course various options for the electorate. I want an indy republic and to keep fascism and racism off our streets.

@Kthomson712 @name61713091530 @hol40900 Indeed, and I entirely respect that as I hope you respect the views of Scots who don’t want independence. But no one ever asks the rest of UK whether we’d like to be independent of Scotland! That would work out at a saving of roughly £1600 a head. The monarchy costs us 77p each.

@GillCoates5 @name61713091530 @hol40900 The touché comment came in before my response, so not related. I do appreciate your responses as you clearly know your stuff. I should however point out that your idea of the monarchy and mine might differ given that we're from different countries.

@Kthomson712 @hol40900 But for that you’d need to go back to 1066 (Norman Conquest) then 1760 (George III) and literally hundreds of years of British laws passed by governments- some more democratic than others. Unpick that if you like. I think there’s more pressing issues in the world.

@GillCoates5 @hol40900 Only if you don't consider the ownership of the crown estate by a handful of chosen elites (and equally shared by the population) entirely bizarre in the first place.

Wonderful advice for the thousands of families going through this.
Dr. Carl Hindy@DrCarlHindy

IF I GET DEMENTIA….. I’d like my family to hang this wish list up on the wall where I live. I want them to remember these things. 1a. Every time you enter the room announce yourself. “Hi Dad - it’s Amanda.” NEVER ask- Do you know who I am??? That causes anxiety. • If I get dementia, I want my friends and family to embrace my reality. • If I think my spouse is still alive, or if I think we’re visiting my parents for dinner, let me believe those things. I’ll be much happier for it. • If I get dementia, don’t argue with me about what is true for me versus what is true for you. • If I get dementia, and I am not sure who you are, do not take it personally. My timeline is confusing to me. • If I get dementia, and can no longer use utensils, do not start feeding me. Instead, switch me to a finger-food diet, and see if I can still feed myself. • If I get dementia, and I am sad or anxious, hold my hand and listen. Do not tell me that my feelings are unfounded. • If I get dementia, I don’t want to be treated like a child. Talk to me like the adult that I am. • If I get dementia, I still want to enjoy the things that I’ve always enjoyed. Help me find a way to exercise, read, and visit with friends. • If I get dementia, ask me to tell you a story from my past. • If I get dementia, and I become agitated, take the time to figure out what is bothering me. • If I get dementia, treat me the way that you would want to be treated. • If I get dementia, make sure that there are plenty of snacks for me in the house. Even now if I don’t eat I get angry, and if I have dementia, I may have trouble explaining what I need. • If I get dementia, don’t talk about me as if I’m not in the room. • If I get dementia, don’t feel guilty if you cannot care for me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s not your fault, and you’ve done your best. Find someone who can help you, or choose a great new place for me to live. With a bus and activities!! • If I get dementia, and I live in a dementia care community, please visit me often. • If I get dementia, don’t act frustrated if I mix up names, events, or places. Take a deep breath. It’s not my fault. • If I get dementia, make sure I always have my favorite music playing within earshot. • If I get dementia, and I like to pick up items and carry them around, help me return those items to their original place. • If I get dementia, don’t exclude me from parties and family gatherings. • If I get dementia, know that I still like receiving hugs or handshakes. • If I get dementia, remember that I am still the person you know and love.” ᴄᴏᴘʏ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘᴀsᴛᴇ in Honor of someone you know or knew who has dementia. In Honor of all those I know and love and lost who are fighting Dementia/Alzheimer’s.

@BenGilroyIRL We should boycott all ‘Christmas’ goods that don’t use the word Christmas. Why should @Tesco or anyone else make money out of products designed for a festival they haven’t got the b***s to name.

Tesco can plaster tinsel all over the box, but apparently the word “Christmas” is too risky for their “Merry Mince Pies”. Welcome to the era of corporate tiptoeing so as we don’t offend the murderers and rapists flooding the country. We are doomed. Bah humbug

@EstherMcVey1 Perhaps that ‘politically correct’ job is ensuring that the money is fairly and equally directed to female, black, Asian, gay etc etc veterans, because they realise it hasn’t been in the past? (Like most other aspects of life)

Bought my poppy as I do every year (& always more than one as I invariably lose my paper ones!) However, horrified to discover The Royal British Legion (RBL) has a Head of Diversity & Inclusion at a wage of about £65k - that’s a lot of poppies to sell just for that non-job wage! All the money should be going to veterans not on politically correct non-jobs.

Representation in Elmbridge will go from 56 borough and county councillors to just 16. Replicated across Surrey. Removing power from the people and reducing representation. Workload will mean only retired privileged people can afford to stand for council. Sad day for democracy.
Elmbridge BC@ElmbridgeBC

Government announces two new councils for Surrey. The county’s existing twelve councils will be replaced by two new unitary councils, creating a simpler and more efficient system for delivering all local government services across the county. More info at ow.ly/Cgfk50Xj3qO

It’s way past time for the media spotlight to be shone intensely over Farage and REFORM Leaving aside the REFORM Councils who will break their tax promises in March , Farage can’t shake off the shadow cast by long time ally Gill being bribed to be a Russian agent of influence
Bruce McD@brucemcd23

There’s a long history to Farage’s parties (UKIP and Brexit) facing allegations of misusing EU money for party political purposes His partner ,Ferrari ( cash purchaser of ‘his’ constituency home) faces new court proceedings according to Sunday Times over financial irregularities
