Tell me again Why have we had to wait 10 f***ing years for all these facts about Farage’s money launderer and secret funder - George Cottrell- to be published? Cottrell was at Farage’s side 10 years ago when the FBI arrested him and put him in prison for 8 months for wire fraud At the time he was a key fundraiser for Farage . And the media response was silence 🤫 All the questions which are being asked now , could have been asked 10 years ago 👏👏👏Brilliant informative reporting from Gabriel Pogrund - who is personally righting some of the wrongs of the last ten years thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@SarahRosemary3 Oh yes ….they’re at almost Tommy Robinson levels of jeopardising the investigation and any subsequent trial

@brucemcd23 2/ My worry is that they're going to outrun the prosecution of the suspect Just as with RAVEC confidentiality, they can invent anything about this crime & friendly papers will assist with that until he's charged Then unregulated SM allows that to continue until trial verdict

@brucemcd23 when I see his tweets, i wonder if he's mentally unwell and then I pause & realise he's just abusive and then I see twisted Jenrick being interviewed The only upside of all of this is that their current display of explosive aggression cannot be ignored by the media. My 1/2

Great work by Gary Gibbons Sticks to his guns Brings Jenrick back to the issue But really this should have been the challenge every time Farage or his surrogate said ‘broken no rules’ The viewer should have always left with the message that it wasn’t for Farage to decide. It was for Parliament

Grotesque lie from Jenrick on Farage’s behalf The record is clear Farage’s needs were assessed by the responsible body and they proposed a security package in line with what senior cabinet ministers receive Farage turned it down After the secret £5m gift was revealed he claimed, initially, it was for security Although it appears he may not have spent any of it on security Don’t be conned by the lies . Farage and Jenrick are changing the subject Because Farage is in deep trouble over the £5m 73% think Farage is sleazy

@SarahRosemary3 Because obviously Farage knows how to make a security assessment than the body ( RAVEC) charged with that responsibility Seriously

I think it’s a good chance that Farage wants the full entourage option That seems a big deal for him….look at the team around him in that airport scene where he confronted SkyNews’s Rob Powell But I suspect what drove him wild with frustration is that Sadiq Khan has got the armoured Range Rover Sentinel with the full 15 man team Lot of chat from Yusuf about Farage being downgraded Of course the level of security for Khan reflects the risk assessment- including his demonisation by Trump and Musk…..not an experience Farage has had

2 possibilities. He either... didn't fancy hanging around with police officers for some reason. Or he wanted a big statement security entourage, with earpieces, big biceps, shaved heads, and Ray-Bans. Like his hero Trump.

Battle of ideas? Several. 1) Pay all your taxes (hi @TiceRichard @nadhimzahawi) 2) Declare all your "gifts" (hi @Nigel_Farage) 3) Don't accept illegal foreign money (hi @RobertJenrick) 4) Don't abuse women (hi @JMcMurdockMP) 5) A big one for a special friend: don't launder money.
Alan Mendoza@alanmendoza

An example of the derangement syndrome that @Nigel_Farage provokes in the political class by his very existence. This MP once showed his bravery and grit in the Army. Yet rather than engage in the battle of ideas, he’s resorted to cheap mockery over an old video. Very sad.

@michaelgove is hoping no one bothers to read what Dame Heather Hallett found in relation to the so-called ‘High Priority Lane’ for Covid procurement. ‘No evidence of cronyism or corruption’ was found, he said. The judge found that: • out of the total of £15B spent on PPE, £10B was wasted • the HP lane embedded unfairness in the procurement process • it should never be repeated Gove says he takes ‘full responsibility’ for what he calls ‘mistakes’. I invite him to tell us what that means. What consequences should befall those, including him, who made these so-called mistakes? Dame Hallett was not conducting a criminal enquiry. It was not her job to make findings of cronyism & corruption. I think we can all make our own minds up about that, given that the known facts scream criminality.

Boris Johnson’s govt wasted £10bn of public PPE during the coronavirus pandemic, official inquiry concludes. Covid-19 inquiry chair, Heather Hallett, also criticised then Conservative govt's controversial “VIP lane” which gave high priority for PPE contracts to firms with political links to the Tories. Gove responds to the Hallett Report by acknowledging ‘honest errors’ The VIP Lane cannot be described as an honest error It was planned and unnecessary systemic step , put in by the Conservative Party in government to give their friends and contacts priority The National Audit Office described it as ‘unprecedented’ There was absolutely no justification for it in terms of procurement process It was a recipe for cronyism and soaking up energy Out of approximately £14.9 billion spent on PPE £ 9.9 billion (nearly two-thirds) was wasted The government paid £4.2 billion on "VIP lane" contracts Over 50% of all contracts issued via the VIP lane referral system encountered notable performance and supply issues The standard procurement routes saw a lower performance-issue rate of 39%. The wastage rate of 66% is staggeringly awful It’s evident the performance figures were over 10% worse in the VIP Lane The VIP Lane , an unnecessary and unsound innovation, contributed about £3 billion to the £9.9 billion of overall waste Not an honest error Crassly arrogant cronyism. Corrupt

Quite shocking that Farage and his acolytes, inside and outside Reform, will continue to speculate about the Widdecome murder and a political or targeted motivation for it, to promote their own interests, regardless of its effect on either the investigation or any subsequent trial
(((Dan Hodges)))@DPJHodges

He'll make the same of it as he has from the beginning. He's going to sit back, let the police to their job and not say anything that could undermine or prejudice the investigation. I understand you have other priorities however...
