Our Protected Characteristics Group met in the House of Lords today, with some fantastic speeches from young people that spoke in their councils to propose the motions. And the meeting also heard impact from Councils that have passed the motions.
Unfortunately I missed this because of Shingles, but everyone did us proud. Thank you so much

BREAKING NEWS: South Cambridgeshire District Council pass Protected Characteristics Motion.
We are now at 85 councils UK wide and with every speech I am humbled how far we have come in this fight for what should never have been a fight.
Together with ❤️ love and respect we will empower the voice of care experienced people to be heard.

Despite this being the 78th Council... when I hear speeches like this it gets me every time. It makes the effort worth while, people in towns and cities across the UK are standing up and fighting for us... To everyone that has supported this everywhere. An honour and a real surprise to be included in this New Years list! These awards go to individuals, but the work has always been a team effort. We’ve got our work cut out to make sure that the most vulnerable children get a fair chance. Looking forward keeping at it in 2024!
