What a performance by @hockey17horses at his first NHC. He was in the lead after day 1. In the end, he made the final cut for Sunday and collected some cash and a BCBC seat! Excellent job!

I want to make myself perfectly clear; I can take a joke with the best of them. I’ve been around racing long enough to know the difference between banter & cheap shots. There are lot of things you can mess with me about but being a mom ain’t one of them. You will leave my kids out of it. You want to measure class, it’s not done by hotel prices or cheap ratings—It’s measured by knowing where the line is… and being decent enough not to cross it. I mean this with no disrespect to anyone here. Every once and a while someone says to me "Have you heard of so and so" and I'm getting this puzzled look on my face "Uhhhh no." And any of these people on this list could come up to me at a track and I'd have no clue who they were.

@jonvera16 @hhhracingpod I can tell you the two pros I know would never play in the NHC. Also, a few that I believe are pros have gone once and they will never return.

Was thinking about the #NHC2026 today....if the contest is truly about finding the "best handicapper" (which it's not), here are some suggestions. Feel free to respond with respectful comments only: 1) Everyone only has 1 entry 2) Price does not matter at all. 3) You try and pick the winner of let's say 40 races (all mandatory, no optionals) on Fri. and Sat. total, that's it. Sunday 20 races to get to final table, then 10 at the Final Table, for example. Tiebreakers include picking 2nd place horse (exactas). Thoughts? I have many reasons why this is a better indicator of true abilities. GL to everyone participating. @NTRA @FanDuel_Racing

@aaronsha @hhhracingpod No, you just wont hear about the players who play regularly on their own. Tournaments give you exposure/media and some people enjoy that. You see the same people playing tournaments. Some new faces but they don’t stay long. You have to enjoy tournaments.

Being the “best handicapper” implies finding value in the winners you pick. If price doesn’t count, that takes away the entire goal of a handicapper…
