@IverHanrahanGP I like the idea of his passing ability in midfield. As a kind of Trent replacement. I don’t like the idea of another midfielder who is practically a zero defensively. You’d need to put legs and athleticism around him.

@TaintlessRed He’s like a really really good 5 a side player. That said I would like to see him in a non dysfunctional team with some pace out wide. And a different manager.

Wirtz has been so dissapointing. You can see there's a talent in there but in too many games he can be so soft and flaky. Reminds me of how Vladimir Smicer used to struggle so often in games yet players would say in training he was always great.

It’s as simple as this. Orban was corrupt, an asset for Putin, interfered with the judiciary & tried his best to tilt the system in his favour. What the result shows is that the voting public are not fools and can see when they are being gamed by a populist leader. Hungarians came out in numbers to put a stop to his authoritarian gallop.

@eoinneylon Huge amount of duplication in the NGO sphere. As well you know. Plenty scope to make serious savings after an audit.

One thing I've had spurted at me is something about NGO's, ignoring the fact the vast majority of these are local charities providing services like counselling, disability services, ancillary healthcare, domestic abuse refuge, homelessness services, etc. Do they want these cut?

One thing I've not heard anyone answer is, beyond the €250mn reduction in fuel taxes already in effect (costing the exchequer €4mn a day) where the shortfall should be made up from if we are to cut taxes substantially further? Spending on schools, hospitals, road maintenance?
