@TaintlessRed I'm rather concerned with how referee and VAR will do England's Semi, As a SAC in the final and Messi who plays in US is a bigger draw (no pun intended), for FIFA and US TV incomes than to have than England there which won't be as attractive or lucrative.

@HendrickD82 It is absolutely questionable lol. Jacquet is an excellent signing and hope he hits the ground running but you're still replacing an experienced 27 yr old who's joined Madrid with a young 20yr old who's never played more than 21 games in a season. Leoni is still injured.

@HendrickD82 He had an iffy season with no midfield protection and no rightback, he was still an experienced Title winning CB who's played in champion league finals and world cup semis and his season wasn't close to Lovren levels. Madrid don't sign you if you're Lovren levels.

@HendrickD82 You're judging CB on expectation of future not actual present day. Jacquet is big talent but 20 with 1 Ligue 1 season coming off a big injury and never played PL. Ndukwe is a kid. & Crucially Virgil is 35 on back of playing every min in league and a world cup.

Watched Alonso's first press conference. He came across and polished, driven and determined to succeed. I'm very happy with Andoni and love his style of football though it is interesting that the two people who bypassed/rejected Xabi (Edwards and Hughes) are both leaving.

With any new manager there's always hope and good intentions of the fans for them to do well. Then it's down to how they conduct themselves and results on the pitch. But a Manager might give redflags in their interviews that later become big issues, e.g. like Liam Rosenior did.
