People wouldn’t be surprised that seatbelts or condoms work less well when only used sometimes or used incorrectly, yet that understanding doesn’t seem to extend to masks especially among those who were already hoping “masks don’t work”

@mryoung151 Local health unit for a routine vaccination the other day I was so pleased to see them actually assess the mask - we were wearing KN95 and told keep our masks, others showed up wearing cloth or nothing and they were asked to change out for provided surgical.

1. Hospital visit today surreal. They were not going to let me visit the patient unless I took off my N95 respirator and put on a very flimsy surgical mask. I said though I drove for an hour to visit- I would call down the hall on my cell phone rather than take off N95.

@GailVazOxlade Ridiculously expensive edible glitter in carbonated water & a fancy glass = fizzy pink princess water just cause it makes me smile. Sometimes I share with the eight year old. 😉😆

At the Mexico airport a Mexican who obviously worked there looked at me and said “American?” Even though as a proud Anishnawbe I never claim the nationality I said “No, Canadian.” He then asked if I was flying American …Airlines. I then slunk into the terminal.

Our camera man commented that he could tell where my Indigeneity comes out. My legs are hairless. It’s not much but it’s something. I’ll run with it.

Our eldest is in Grade 1 French Immersion. Unfortunately there’s no Anishinaabemowin immersion available to him here in Sudbury, so when he gets his weekly words/phrases to practice from his teacher, I do my best to translate them into the language as well
