Update: My baby was found safely today at around 6pm, not on Friday as people have been saying. The usikimiye facebook post claiming he was found earlier was not true. The nanny is currently in police custody together with the person who referred her to me.

Our son turned 19 yesterday, and I can’t explain the feeling. He is becoming his own man. My friends asked how it feels, and it’s bittersweet. Time flies, and I find myself wondering if I spent enough time with him and whether he’ll be okay out there in the world on his own. I know I did my best, but if I could go back in time, I would prioritize family above everything else. When I was a teenager, my mum gave me some advice, and it’s the same one I have passed on to my son: “Menya guikarania na adu” (learn to live/get along with people). That advice has served me well because even when I mess up relationships, I remember her words and learn my lesson. Hug your loved ones and prioritize them. Happy Birthday, son.

🚨 UPDATE: Police Arrest Suspect Over Fatal Stabbing of Ex-Girlfriend in Kilimani ❗ Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend along Kirichwa Road in Kilimani, Nairobi, on Thursday evening, with investigators linking the attack to what colleagues described as a toxic relationship between the two former partners who both worked for a money lending company located at Malik Heights along Ngong Road. According to police and witness accounts, the woman had reportedly separated from the suspect and moved from his house in Kawangware to stay with her aunt before resuming work on Thursday after being away for several weeks, while detectives say the suspect also reported to work armed with a knife earlier in the day. Authorities say the woman was walking with colleagues toward the Argwings Kodhek area after work when the suspect allegedly followed and attacked her, stabbing her multiple times before she attempted to run to a nearby clinic for help but collapsed outside the facility and died from her injuries. Kilimani Sub-County Police Commander Patricia Yegon confirmed that members of the public restrained the suspect before police arrived at the scene, adding that he did not sustain injuries during the incident and that blood stains found on him belonged to the deceased woman. Police say the suspect was taken to hospital for examination before being returned to custody, as detectives continue investigations ahead of his expected arraignment on a murder charge.
