The number of teachers leaving the profession is only a symptom of the number of teachers who feel like they need to emotionally disengage from their work to protect themselves (which happens prior to the decision of leaving). Now more than ever they need to feel safe & supported

@dhabecker I’ve been on both sides. I am a teacher and a mom of a Special education student. I would have my child do a few and then draw a line with my signature. I would communicate with the teacher that there was too much for him to handle. I do try to not assign too much.

I don’t mean to undermine the teacher, but I told my son that doing 5 problems is enough. He will not be doing all 20.
