Burkina Faso is not rejecting its people, it is rejecting a foreign-designed political model that delivered instability, corruption, terrorism, and dependency for years. Many Africans are no longer impressed by democracy as a slogan when, in practice, it has often meant weak states, elite betrayal, and outside control. What Burkina Faso is defending is sovereignty, security, and a political path shaped by Burkinabè realities, not Western expectations. A country under siege by terrorism is going to prioritize survival, unity, and national reconstruction before pleasing foreign media narratives. The real story is not Reuters’ outrage. The real story is why the same institutions that failed Burkina Faso for decades now want to lecture it while it fights to reclaim its future.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré declared that Burkina Faso is no longer pretending to follow a broken imported model that has brought instability, manipulation, and betrayal across Africa. He made it clear that the country is now living through a revolution, not democracy, signaling a decisive break from systems that many Burkinabè see as serving foreign interests more than national dignity, sovereignty, and progress. His statement sends a fierce message: Burkina Faso’s future will not be dictated by outside approval, Western political language, or elite-controlled institutions dressed up as democracy. Instead, the nation is embracing a revolutionary path centered on self-determination, popular mobilization, national defense, and the rebuilding of state power in service of the people. For supporters, this is more than rhetoric, it is the political line of a country choosing resistance over submission. Traoré’s words frame Burkina Faso’s current direction as a historic struggle to reclaim control, restore pride, and forge a new national order rooted in revolution, discipline, and African sovereignty.

Every elderly, corrupt and buffonish dictator on the continent started out as a fresh faced and bright eyed "revolutionary" lecturing the world about the "evils of democracy and a market economy" and "building Pan-Africanism". It always ends the exact same way...

President John Mahama has today announced that the Government of Ghana has decided to introduce a free visa regime for all Africans who wish to visit Ghana. The new policy takes effect on May 25, a day which is commemorated as Africa Day. President Mahama made the declaration during the inaugural State Visit of President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe to Ghana. Ghana seeks to consolidate its credentials as the cradle of Pan-Africanism even as it expects a major boost in tourism and intra-African trade by this groundbreaking reform. The Free Visa for Africans would be a component of a new e-Visa policy the Mahama Administration is launching next month. President Mahama also assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue with its intentional and determined effort at securing more Visa Waiver Agreements for Ghanaian passport holders. Since last year, 23 Visa Waiver Agreements have been negotiated for Ghanaians. For God, Country and Continent.

The coup in Niger has hindered the fight against insurgency and even reversed previous security gains. The purchists are more interested in maintaining their hold on power than fighting the insurgency. Our security situation has worsened with coup backed regimes surrounding us.

BAT threatening to invade Niger was the most disastrous blunder to our regional stability. We have been cast off as Western puppets. The relationship between us and Niger is severely fractured.

Niger 🇳🇪 has reportedly started building a 40 MW gas-fired thermal power plant in partnership with Algeria 🇩🇿 The two countries laid the foundation stone for the “Algerian-Nigerien Solidarity” plant near Niamey. The project will use two 20 MW gas turbines to strengthen the national grid, improve electricity supply for homes and businesses, and support energy independence. Algeria is fully financing the plant through its state company Sonelgaz, working closely with Niger’s NIGELEC.
