I knew Vlad. Not as a name in a news report. Not as a face on a memorial. As a friend. Vladyslav Seniuk was killed on September 25, 2025, in Donetsk Oblast, when a russian kamikaze drone struck his armored vehicle. He was 31 years old. China is a very, very powerful, large country, and Taiwan is a tiny island—as far as their respective chances are concerned. — Trump Further statements by the US President: If you look at history: Taiwan developed the way it did only because we had presidents who had no idea what they were doing. They basically stole our chip industry from us. Anyone manufacturing chips in Taiwan should relocate to the USA. The Chinese do not want to see this place—let’s just call it a place, because no one knows how to define it—as independent. I don’t want anyone to become independent. Do we really have to travel 15,000 kilometers to fight a war? I don’t want that.

Ham Tin Wan (aka Ham Tin Beach; 鹹田灣) used to be a quiet, secluded beach in Sai Kung East Country Park which is part of Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark. It’s now nothing but free accommodation for the swarms of tourists from China who spend little in the city — they bring their food, water and drinks from China — and leave behind heaps of garbage. It’s pretty much impossible for locals to enjoy a quiet weekend or other holidays strolling around the scenic beach. Ham Tin Wan has been severely ravaged by the Chinese tourists in the past few years. The same thing is happening at other hiking trails and country parks in the city. And things are getting worse.

On Sunday Jan 11, a volunteer group of local HKers picked up the trash dumped on the otherwise beautiful beach of Ham Tin Wan by Chinese tourists, packed it all up in garbage bags and then hand-carried those bags away. It’s mostly simplified Chinese on the bottles and packaging — many Chinese tourists brought their own stuff from China without even spending much in Hong Kong but then they left the trash behind.

Russians targeted a civilian car and an ambulance in Kherson, leaving 1 dead and several injured. ​1 person was killed when a civilian car was hit. 4 others: a 63-year-old woman and three men aged 48, 55, and 61, sustained concussions and shrapnel wounds. ​Shortly after, an ambulance was targeted. ‼️Yet another Russian strike on a gas station in Dnipropetrovsk region where a bus with almost 40 kids was. The kids managed to run out of the bus. A 10-year old boy was injured. Five more adults were injured, as well. One of them is a pregnant 21-year-old woman. Horrible.
