Beautifully said. The "Pale Blue Dot" remains one of the most profound images in human history—a humbling reminder of our place in the cosmos.Captured on February 14, 1990, by NASA's Voyager 1 from about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) away, Earth appears as a minuscule speck—less than a single pixel—suspended in a ray of scattered sunlight. This was part of Voyager's "Family Portrait" series, the last images taken before its cameras were powered down to conserve energy for the long journey into interstellar space. The idea came largely from Carl Sagan, who later reflected in his book Pale Blue Dot:"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives... Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light."
In 2020, NASA released a remastered version using modern processing techniques, making our fragile world stand out even more poignantly. You're spot on: it's not just a photo; it's a call to perspective, unity, and stewardship. In an era of division, this view from the edge of our solar system underscores that we all share this one irreplaceable home. Voyager 1, now over 25 billion kilometers away and still sending data, continues to embody that spirit of curiosity and exploration.Thank you for sharing this timeless reflection.

The Day That Lives in Infamy
84 years ago, the devastating surprise attack on Naval Base Pearl Harbor by the Imperial Japanese Navy claimed the lives of 2,403 American service members, wounded 1,178, and resulted in significant damage or loss of 8 battleships, 3 cruisers, and more than 180 aircraft. On this fateful day in 1941, 353 aircraft descended upon the base, unleashing destruction in under 90 minutes. Despite the unpreparedness, courageous Marines and @USNavy Sailors mounted a defense, engaging the enemy with anti-aircraft fire and mounting rescue efforts.
A key factor in America's eventual recovery was the fortunate absence of all U.S. aircraft carriers from Pearl Harbor during the assault. The attack served as a pivotal event, compelling the United States to formally enter World War II. Just six months later, the U.S. would secure a crucial victory at the Battle of Midway, where the newly created 3rd and 6th Marine Defense Battalions played a crucial role in defending the island and stopping the Japanese advance across the Pacific.

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., questioned Attorney General Pam Bondi Tuesday during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing about President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to U.S. cities, including Chicago and Memphis.
Tillis asked Bondi whether the federal presence there was intended to be a “necessary evil” until the city leaders can tackle violent crime themselves, or whether deployment of troops was “best practice.”
When Bondi responded that the National Guard was necessary to protect federal buildings from protesters, Tillis said that wasn’t his concern, but rather that he senses troops have “become an arm of local law enforcement.”
“I don’t believe our National Guard want to be doing that, but they’re going to be where they have to be to keep Americans safe,” Bondi replied.
Ultimately, Tillis said, he worried that the federal presence is masking the need for local officials to take more accountability for safety and crime.
“I see 3.5 years from now, if we don't address the systemic problems, that what we’ve basically done is given a governor and mayor and city councilman a pass on failing to protect their people,” Tillis said.
“I was formerly speaker of the House in North Carolina. If I thought I had to have the president deploy troops to keep North Carolina safe, I would have considered myself a failure as a state leader. And so, I just hope we strike the balance so that we're not fixing a problem temporarily, only to come back, maybe even worse than the problem we're fixing, the moment this president, who's committed to local safety, leaves.”

This is CRAZY
The state of Virginia is making people pay taxes on their cars, trailers, campers, RVs and boats EVERY YEAR based on their value
Every year you must again pay taxes on your vehicles, even if they’re paid off
- They give you an assessed value
- Then there is a rate per hundred dollars that you pay
- This year's rate is $2.35 per hundred dollars of the piece of property that you own
- Then they charge you per month that you own that item
For this woman to own her own cars in the state of Virginia this year, she was billed $2,104.45 (She shows the bill as proof)
This is separate from registration fees and tags.
“This bill right here is specifically for owning a car or camper trailer, whatever, in the state of Virginia.”
Taxes in America are out of control
