You can laugh, but " Big Brother " wants complete control. A significant number of new vehicles in 2026—and all new vehicles by 2027—will be equipped with advanced driver-monitoring technology that uses cameras and sensors to scan a driver's face, eyes, and behavior. This technology, mandated by a 2021 federal law, is designed to combat distracted or impaired driving by monitoring alertness, with capabilities to prevent the engine from starting or to stop the car if the system detects the driver is not fit to drive. It's time to raise hell about this, and if we must, we can boycott this illegal invasion of privacy. We need to let our voices be heard now.
