A review meeting on the progress of the Gram Haat Initiative was held through VC under the chairmanship of Ms. Prashasti Pareek, IAS, Managing Director, Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Ltd. (GLPC) with all DRDA Directors. The meeting focused on reviewing the implementation status of Gram Haat across districts, strategic directions were provided to ensure timely establishment and effective functioning of Gram Haats across Gujarat. An MoU was signed by Ms. Prashasti Pareek, IAS , Managing Director ,GLPC and Ms. Bhoomi Shah, Dy. General Manager, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) to establish a Mangalam Canteen at the Apparel Park Depot, Gomtipur, Ahmedabad, to be managed by women from Self Help Groups (SHGs). Beyond welcoming children to schools, Shaala Praveshotsav 2026 also served as an opportunity to engage with the women who are driving change in rural communities. During her visit to Bavlu village, Ms. Prashasti Pareek, IAS, Managing Director, GLPC, interacted with members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to discuss financial inclusion, access to credit, livelihood opportunities, and the challenges faced by SHGs.
