I think CS Lewis would have cringed at the McDonald’s toys in 2005. And they looked a million times better than these things. Maybe they’ll suit the movie.

VDT had some memorable moments from the book, but they were all poorly done. Bad adaptation.

I predict you’ll definitely have memorable moments. The VotDT movie had a bunch of those. But all evidence points to Gerwig putting her own atmosphere and themes in the film. I predict those two will be the biggest casualties.

@Prince_Rilian @magiclikethis His point is that the editor needs to have an objective view of whether the movie is working on its own terms. If people have to read the book to understand the movie, then it has failed as a movie and adaptation.

The movies suck. There's no creativity coming out of Hollywood at the moment. I can't remember the last new movie I saw that I was blown away by. They certainly don't make them like they used to.

@KalebAxon @Glumpuddle His death wasn’t the main complaint for me. For one thing, Ford was trying to die in movie since Empire. I couldn’t stand how they reverted him back to lone smuggler who walked away from Leia and the Rebellion. It reversed the character arc for no good reason.
