@Go1MoreMile @reallyoptimized Yes, in the linked podcast we discuss the Randstad 3x13x(30:15). I have played around with this sort of session (200s of 15s). For me personally, I didn't find it very effective at getting my HR up. My max speed is poor and so I find running at these fast speeds muscularly...

@jerryteixeira @JoseAntonioPhD We also need to consider the exercise benefit at 5-7 hrs. We know after 7 hrs it’s diminishing returns, but imagine most weight loss people did 5 hrs consistently? The health and quality of life benefits even without continued weight loss is huge.

@JoseAntonioPhD @Go1MoreMile 7ish hours is where I am at without factoring in 5-6 hours a week of jiu jitsu The trick, if there is one, I just sticking with exercise long enough to start actually liking it. Most people never get past the hating it stage

@Dan_Nash94 @reallyoptimized Have you considered the role of very short SIT with equal rest? Ie 10sec/10sec done for 40-50 x. Christensen demonstrated this in 1960 so I played with it in my lab. Effort and lactate remains relatively low (RPE 13/6; blc 4). Lots of time at vo2 max.

@Dan_Nash94 @reallyoptimized I do 17s/13s bc the Accel/decel of the treadmill. But I can do this 40x rpe 6…then I’ve tried holding that sprint pace at the end and I maybe last 3 min. Perhaps this is a good way to target clinical or deconditioned pops.

@AngelaDavies68 @JoseAntonioPhD Another good point. Put it first. I meet lots of people who put it at the end and lots of things prevent it. Damn, I dont even like to workout late most days. So it’s in AM and it’s Set the tone for most days.

@jerryteixeira @JoseAntonioPhD I agree. In fact, the mindset is exercise is just something you get through. Never prioritized in any level, “if I have time ok, but I can’t make Time.” That attitude gets people some health/fitness but falls short of its real benefits. My life is built around exercise.

@AlisonSydor @CNN keeps citing the same OLD 2017 paper showing no advantage. It's weak journalism at best that ignores dozens of new research showing the opposite.

Honestly, where were the media w their critical questions the past 20+ y when women had obvious concerns about fairness I’d love to see an equal grilling of major sport CEOs allowing males into the female category. Would any of them even have the courage to do such an interview?

Seb Coe:"It was the right decision then. It's the right decision now. Those regulations are here to stay. If we have to defend them we will. We will defend them on the basis that it's absolutely vital that we protect, defend & preserve the female category" cnn.com/videos/sports/…

@CNN needs to stop citing that 2017 research article. That paper is out of date and there are now at least two dozen papers showing trans women's have a clear advantage. Just open your damn eyes! Trans women (ie, post puberty) have an unfair advantage. cnn.com/2024/03/03/us/…

@realSteveNagy1 @ACShilton Just to be clear though, our current study is home-based, so just about anyone in the lower 48 can enroll. You just need a smart trainer. We can supply the Zwift for the study period.

Is there anything Jenna (Jimmy) Lingwood can’t do?? He’s a dad. He’s a husband. He’s an engineer. AND he’s a consistent women’s elite cyclocross champion! Here he is winning the women’s 1/2 last night at StarCrossed in Seattle. (Psst ladies: Train harder!)

@TimCycles @nealrogers HIs winning margin wasn't that much. If you look at that time trial, he was easily 2% better than normal, Pog's maybe 2% off, you get 4% diff. Journalists pretending to be exercise physiologists need better advisors.

Wrote this three years ago, same sentiment applies today. Vingegaard's winning margin defies logic. That doesn't mean it wasn't legitimate — there's zero credible evidence to say otherwise — but cycling fans are well within their rights to have doubt, to pose questions. #TDF2023
Neal Rogers 🇺🇦@nealrogers

To anyone stunned, in disbelief, raising eyebrows: That's fair. This is pro cycling. The sport has a long, dubious history. Pogacar's TT ride, winning margin, defies logic. That doesn't mean it wasn't legitimate, but we're all well within our rights to pose questions. #TDF2020

Did #primozroglic collapse in the TT? Was this loss as dramatic as it seems? I’d argue no. 1) @LeTour top 10 is within 1% of the winner. 2) day-day variance in performance is 1-2%. 3) @rogla was 3.3% slower w/in top 5. 4) If @TamauPogi was on a great day and Roglic mediocre...1/2

@IkSendler @theagora42 @AaronSiriSG @joerogan Yes. You're cherry picking things to make a case. Literally EVERYTHING can cause cancer. All vaccines are monitored for safety where we have decades of data in some cases. I don't think you understand placebos. Placebos are inert for the active ingredient, not all ingredients.

@Go1MoreMile @theagora42 @AaronSiriSG @joerogan ✖️Most are not tested against a true inert placebo. ✖️In some, “they monitored safety” with preset checklists for only a few DAYS. ✖️Every vaccine insert on the childhood schedule states that it is not studied for carcinogenesis or mutagenesis. 🤔You call that “stringent”??

@KirstiMiller30 @lancearmstrong @YouTube @RogerPielkeJr You keep referring to non-athletes to make your case in athletes. That's really not matching. And again, what's with your fixation on height? I have to honest, you really don't understand what you're talking about. Athletes will best retain advantage esp past 2 years.

@Go1MoreMile @lancearmstrong @YouTube @RogerPielkeJr Both Roberts & Chiccarelli not matched for height show steady decrements in physical performance of non-athletic TW in the military, with no difference with CW for running times by 2ys meaning this group of TW lost 21% in running which is double the gender performance gap.
