🧵 Algorand is becoming part of the payment layer for the agentic internet. Most people still think online payments are about checkout pages, cards and subscriptions. But AI agents will need something different. They need to pay for APIs, data, compute and digital services directly at the request level. That is what x402 is built for. x402 is an emerging payment standard developed by Coinbase Developer Platform around HTTP 402 “Payment Required.” It allows autonomous AI agents to make payments over blockchain rails when accessing protected resources. This changes the model. Instead of forcing users through traditional checkout flows, payment can happen inside the internet request itself. An agent asks for a service. The server responds with payment requirements. The agent pays. The resource unlocks. That is internet-native commerce. For this to work, the settlement layer has to be fast, reliable and low-cost. x402 traffic can be high-frequency, small in value and tied to synchronous request-response flows. That is exactly where @Algorand becomes interesting. Algorand offers low transaction fees, predictable performance, instant deterministic finality and stablecoin support. That matters because AI agents cannot operate efficiently if every payment requires slow confirmation, unpredictable fees or congestion-aware logic. More than proud that very talented builders like @LoafPickle are creating such amazing toolings using something @GoPlausible dedicatedly provided in hope that it becomes handy for those who wish to take it further if right base tooling is provided. Happy that @GoPlausible SDK for Falcon Signatures in Typescript using WASM was found by the perfect builder audience. Building that SDK was a process to be prepared for today along with great achievements from @AlgoFoundation engineering team in Go lang. We felt the need for a Typescript port written from scratch. Although our TS version lacked some toolings like 24-word mnemonic generation, it was a solid basis to stand and build firmly on. This motivated us to work more on it and provide the next version with all bells and whistles included, plus batteries, coming soon!
