@Imranmuhdz Nigeria economy is different from US economy so it’s very unwise comparing the purchasing power of US dollar in Nigeria The economic indices are not same. You’re very unintelligent the moment you try to compare both currencies in different continents.

"$10 won’t buy you lunch anywhere in the US; you need at least $20. $20 x N1500 is N30,000. In Gwarinpa, Abuja, there are people who sell bole and fish on the roadside, you can eat for N1,500. What $10 will do in New York, you only need $1 in Nigeria." - Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Economic Affairs (VP Office).

@dbamiloye Best characters: Rambo, Baba Gbenro and Mama Gbenro and Martins. Most annoying: Officer Gabriel, Gbenro and Bro Nicholas. Lessons learnt: Stay close to God and be prayerful. Be spiritually sensitive. This is why we all need a Baba Gbenro in our lives. God answers prayers

It's funny how people will present facts when reality says something different. For example, the IMF reported that Nigeria is facing a food crisis. According to the IMF, the inception of the crises was 2024. But we all know that we have been facing food crisis as far back as 2020. World Bank capped Nigeria's unemployment rate at 8.3%, but we know that the statistics are false. Our unemployment rate is double digit and North of 20%. These foreign organization could not even properly track Covid, let alone track the unemployment or developmental data of a country like Nigeria. What's our population? 229 million, they say. But when was the last census? Do you guys realize how bogus that data is. How many people have registered for NIN? How about the Nigerians without BVN? How do you track the data of a country whose metrics for tracking are completely broken? It's like tracking a rigged election. So yeah, the IMF is saying one thing, but the people in the trenches (Nigeria) are saying something different. People are suffering. The economy is crumbling. Prices of goods have skyrocketed. 1k pepper and tomato can no longer feed a family of four in one meal. Yam is a luxury. You want statistics, go to the fucking market and stopp capping.

Response To My Beloved Senior, Dele Momodu: Nigeria's Economy Is Not Collapsing. Far From It!  Dear Egbon Dele Momodu, I read your open letter to President Bola Tinubu, in which you said, "Our economy has virtually collapsed", among other things. Respectfully, the facts do not support your assertions, and in your open letter, you did not provide any facts. Only opinions. So, please let me present some facts that contradict your opinions.  Firstly, only yesterday, the International Monetary Fund projected that due to the reforms being undertaken by the current administration, Nigeria will have a 3.1% GDP growth rate in 2024. This is one of the best projections for an African country in 2024, and does not signal an economy that has 'virtually collapsed.' Secondly, Nigeria had a record high of ₦6.52 trillion trade surplus in the first quarter of 2024. This has never happened before. We routinely had trade deficits in the past. This means that because of the monetary reforms by the current government, Nigeria is now exporting significantly more than it is importing, and the growth is largely in the non-oil sector. For example, Nigeria is now a net exporter of clement to Europe and a growing exporter of refined petroleum products to Europe and West African states. Ghana, a fellow petroleum exporting country, is largely dependent on LPG from Nigeria. This projects growth, not collapse. Thirdly, in terms of revenue, all Nigerian states, bar none, have received significantly higher federal allocations since May 29, 2023, than they were receiving under the Buhari regime. Each state now gets at least 45% more federal allocation, with Nasarawa getting almost 100% more and Anambra getting 70% more, whereas their wage bill has not increased. The above projects economic strength rather than collapse. Fourthly, according to Financial Derivatives (FDC), with a Return on Investment of 22.90%, Nigeria's Stock Exchange is now the most profitable capital market on Earth, bar none. Please note that. Bar none. The National Bureau of Statistics has also corroborated this. For the first time in our history, the all-share index (ASI) of the Nigerian Stock Exchange crossed the 100,000 mark in 2024. I would not categorise such growth as collapse, and I am sure investors who smiled to the bank would not either. Fifthly, capital inflow into Nigeria increased by 66.27% this year. This is probably why Fitch and S&P Global Ratings upgraded Nigeria's economy to a Stable B, and why foreign inflows into the capital market jumped fivefold in the first quarter of 2024 to N93.37 billion from N18.12 billion in the same period last year. Sixthly, despite clearing the backlog of foreign exchange debts owed to foreign airlines and other foreign investors by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria's foreign reserve hit a year-to-date high of an estimated $34 billion this year. How can a nation with such a healthy reserve be said to be on the verge of economic collapse? Finally, the Student Loan promised is now a reality and is being disbursed. That means Nigeria is about to witness a dramatic increase in its human resources, as more youths will have access to education. Therefore, bearing the above in mind, is it not possible, egbon Dele, that you may have focused too much on assumption and too little on facts to come to your conclusion that Nigeria's economy is collapsing? From Joseph we learn that we must: Study money RELIGIOUSLY Earn money REGULARLY Lend money CAREFULLY Borrow money RARELY Invest money WISELY Withdraw money SPARINGLY Spend money PRUDENTLY Sow money GENEROUSLY Donate money SPIRITUALLY and you will always have money ABUNDANTLY In the wealth pyramid, money is at the bottom. At the top of the pyramid is wisdom. It is followed by relationships. Next is time management. Manage time properly and money pursues you. Develop relationships and money catches up with you. Acquire wisdom and money overtakes you. Wisdom gives you the enlightenment to know that a job means you work for money. And that an investment means money works for you. And again, that a business means money walks to you. Relationships are vital. Your relationships from school sometimes are more relevant to your upward mobility than even what you learn in school. It is often true, but not always true, that who you know is more important than what you know. And the next thing on the wealth pyramid is time. Use your time well. Productivity is the watch word. Pack value into your time. Be productive, instead of being active or busy. What you produce determines your ranking in the wealth pyramid. If all you produce is labour, you will be at the bottom of the pyramid. If you possess management skills, you will move to the middle. But the top of the pyramid is reserved for those with actionable ideas that can be converted into a business. #RenosNuggets

In a country that has sensible citizens, the focus should be to ensure opposition controls the legislature. In a country where we have moved from rubber stamp Senate president to another rubber stamp senate president, this should be the minimum expectation regarding votes. Ahmed Lawan should be in jail and not in the senate house.

Did you listen to the Senate deliberations today? What we witnessed in the Red Chamber underscores the vital role of legislative oversight and the importance of speaking truth, standing with the people, and fulfilling our constitutional roles. Today's inquiries were those that the 9th Senate should have pursued but evidently did not, resulting in the current repercussions for their inaction. It brought back memories of the 8th Senate's insistence on transparency and accountability. I remember when we were asking for details of the foreign loan requests brought by the Buhari administration and were portrayed as enemies of the state and obstructive to national progress. I must acknowledge the 10th Senate's effort in even deliberating on these crucial issues. This moment stands as a powerful reminder that the legislative arm of government must effectively play its constitutional role at all times in the interest of the people they represent, despite the personal sacrifices that may need to be made. Only then will the public and the people truly benefit. I sincerely hope we learn from the mistakes of the past.
