The idea of the teacher restrictions disappearing is incredible. Like, have you ever talked to somebody in line at the gas station? People are really profoundly stupid. Now they can just teach your kids. Teach them what? Whatever thing a stupid idiot might come up with.

@CrownAndJoke This is going to happen more often in coming years. The state is so desperate for teachers they’ll hire anyone. Background checks are only done to fulfill paperwork requirements - no one is following up on red flags.

Let's be clear. Eli Lilly should apologize for increasing the price of insulin by over 1,200% since 1996 to $275 while it costs less than $10 to manufacture. The inventors of insulin sold their patents in 1923 for $1 to save lives, not to make Eli Lilly's CEO obscenely rich.

I offer this as someone who spent a small chunk of time working in electoral politics: too often we limit our analysis of an election to a single cycle of work. Most wins didn't come about because of 2years of organizing or less or because of folks fired up around 1 action/issue.
